Two Doubles and Counts From Table 441

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Philippe Boucher raised on the button, Ryan Chapman three-bet out of the small blind, and Boucher called. The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}, Chapman immediately fired out 30,000, Boucher moved all in for 44,100, and Chapman called.

Boucher: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Chapman: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The {8-Spades} bricked on the turn, but the {9-Clubs} completed the board, giving Boucher a straight to the queen.

The very next hand, Leonardo Cavarge raised to 4,500, Boucher called, Chapman called, Ali Lareybi called, and Brent Johnson raised the pot out of the blinds. Cavarge re-potted, going all in for 58,000, and it folded back to Johnson.

"Well," he said, reaching for chips. "The great thing about poker is that you can make the wrong decision and still win."

He called.

Johnson: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Cavarge: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The aces held as the board came {10-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}, and the Brazilian successfully doubled.

Here are counts from the entire table:

Tough Trio

Level 14 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Jonathan Duhamel, Jarred Solomon, and Phil Hellmuth having been sitting side-by-side-by-side for a while now. The pots have been mostly small-to-medium sized at their table, with Hellmuth gradually trending upward while Solomon and Duhamel have lost a few of late.

Just now all three were involved in a hand that saw Duhamel raise to 4,000 from the hijack, Solomon call from the cutoff, and Hellmuth also call from the button. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{A-Spades}{2-Clubs}. Duhamel checked, Solomon fired 14,000, Hellmuth called, and Duhamel folded. Both remaining players then checked the {9-Hearts} turn and {3-Hearts} river.

"Two pair," said Hellmuth, showing his {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for aces and nines, and Solomon paused to recheck his hand before tossing his cards away.

Schneider Out, Sexton In

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Tom Schneider
Tom Schneider

Two-time 2013 WSOP bracelet winner Tom Schneider survived the bubble with a short stack, then lasted well into Level 13 before finally busting just now to add another cash to his Series résumé.

Meanwhile the person who gave Schneider his nickname many years ago on a World Poker Tour telecast, Mike Sexton, continues to battle over on Table 442.

Just now Sexton opened with a min-raise to 4,000 from the button, watched Sergey Pevzner reraise to 13,000 from the neighboring seat, then tanked for a while before letting his hand go. Pevzner showed Sexton a hand containing two red aces, and Sexton nodded in response.

Landfish Out of Hot Water

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

Steve Landfish was just all in and at risk versus Patrick Ruth but survived. We arrived for the counting down of chips, with the board showing {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, Landfish holding {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} (flush), and Ruth {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} (trip tens).

Landfish kept standing and looking over the hands even after the chips were being counted, needing to double- and triple-check to assure himself he'd survived. "I keep looking for your flush," he said to Ruth with a smile before finally sitting back down.

Zanjani Zapped

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante

A few players have hit the rail to earn min-cashes now that the bubble burst, among them [Removed:321] Zanjani.

All in just now with his short stack with {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, Zanjani was hoping to outdraw John Holley's {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}. But the board came {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}, and Holley's hand was best.
