Six-Handed Play About to Begin

The Coveted Gold Bracelet
The Coveted Gold Bracelet

Hello and welcome back to our coverage of the 2013 World Series of Poker! We're live in the Brasilia Room for Day 1 of Event #4: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em (Six Handed). This is a very popular event and we're expecting to see some exciting things happen on the felt through short-handed play.

Last year this event saw 1,604 runners hit the felt which spawned a total prize pool of $2,165,400. The first-place prize of $454,835 was handed to Matt Matros when he conquered Mark Radoja during heads up play. This event was especially historic as it was Matros' third consecutive bracelet win over three years. We fully expect the reigning champion to return to the felt today along with a breadth of poker's elite and amateurs alike.

The buzz in the Brasilia room is electric as tournament staff and dealers prepare for this exciting event. We've overheard predictions that the turnout for this event may beat the number of entrants from last year.

The plan is to play eleven 60-minute levels with a 90-minute dinner break after level six. Be sure to stay tuned to our coverage as we provide the most up to date reports from the tournament floor!
