Salsberg Finds a Double

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante
Matt Salsberg
Matt Salsberg

We arrived at the table to find that Matt Salsberg opened with a preflop raise from the cutoff. The player on the button made it 3,800 to go and the small blind four-bet to an unknown amount. Salsberg then moved all in and the button folded. The small blind called and the hands were rolled over.

Salsberg: {K-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Salsberg held the lead with his cowboys and stayed that way through a {4-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs} run out. He's now sitting on about 44,000.

Fink Survives a Race

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Oliver Fink called 800 from middle position which prompted the cutoff and button to call. The small blind raised to 20,000 and it folded back around to Fink. After some thought, Fink moved all in for his final 9,500 and everyone else folded.

Fink showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and was up against his opponent's {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} was kind to Fink as he survived the race an earned a much needed double up.

Hobson On Fire

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

We caught the remnants of a hand that saw Greg Hobson send a player to the rail. According to Hobson, he four-bet the action before the flop and was called by a lone opponent. The two saw {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} fall and Hobson's opponent led with an all in bet. Hobson called and the hands were shown.

Hobson: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Hearts}{4-Spades}

The turn was the {9-Spades} and the river the {4-Diamonds}, ensuring Hobson would score the knockout. He's now sitting on a massive mountain of chips totaling around 180,000.

Christing Doubles

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Randall Christing raised to 1,900 from under the gun. A middle position player reraised to 6,500. Christing immediately went all in and was called. When the hands were turned up, Christing held {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} against his opponent's {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.

The board came {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and Christing's full house gave him a much welcomed double up.

Hellmuth Getting Heated

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

The board read {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and was being stared at by three players including Phil Hellmuth. Hellmuth fired 1,800 and his first opponent folded. The player on the button, however, stayed the course.

The river was a fifth heart - the {A-Hearts} - which prompted Hellmuth to quickly announced a check. His opponent dipped into his stack and came out with a bet of an unknown amount.

Hellmuth quickly ripped his headphones off and flung {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} into the muck face up for a flopped two pair.

"Yeah, that's right buddy," said Hellmuth. "You win 'em all. Must be nice to win them all."

Hellmuth is now sitting on about 10,000 in chips.

Duhamel Makes a Play

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

It folded around to Jonathan Duhamel in the cutoff and he raised to 1,200. He was called by both the small and big blinds.

All three players checked the flop of {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

The {10-Diamonds} turn saw the blinds to once again check to Duhamel and he bet 1,800 with only the small blind calling his raise.

The {4-Clubs} river had both players checking. The small blind showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for ace-high and Duhamel mucked his hand.
