David Nicholson Eliminated in 9th Place ($38,625)

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
David Nicholson - 9th place
David Nicholson - 9th place

Hand #13: Nicolas Fierro opened to 50,000 from under the gun and Jared Hamby made the call from the cutoff to see a {4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop fall.

Fierro checked and Hamby bet out 62,000 which prompted a fold from Fierro.

Hand #14: Joao Dorneles Neto made it 55,000 and Matt Berkey made the call before David Nicholson moved all in for 203,000 from the button.

Neto mucked but Berkey made the call as the cards were placed on their backs.

Berkey: {J-Spades}{J-Diamonds}
Nicholson: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}

The flop fell {4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} to keep Berkey in the lead, and when the {9-Spades} landed on the turn Nicholson would need to spike to stay alive.

Unfortunately for the WSOP Circuit regular, the {4-Diamonds} landed on the river to end his tournament in 9th place for a $38,625 payday.

Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham

Peter Hengsakul raised it up to 50,000 in middle position, and Allan Vrooman called from the small blind. Allen Cunningham also called from the big blind, and the flop came down {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}. It checked to Hengsakul, and he bet out 75,000. Vrooman folded, but Cunningham elected to check raise it to 170,000. Hengsakul made the call, and the turn was the {2-Diamonds}. Cunningham thought for about 15 seconds before moving all in for 220,000, and Hengsakul snap called.

Hengsakul: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Cunningham: {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Cunningham had flopped top pair, but unfortunately for him, he was drawing dead to the set of Hengsakul. The meaningless river was the {j-Hearts}, and Cunningham bubbled the official final table.

Garry Gates

Garry Gates open shoved for his last 260,000 from the hijack, and it folded around to Nicolas Fierro in the big blind. Once he got the official number, he tossed in chips for the call.

Gates: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
Fierro: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Fierro had woken up with a big hand in the big blind, and Gates was looking to catch a two outer. The board ran down {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and Gates busted just short of the unofficial final table. Meanwhile, Fierro is back to over a million chips.

Griffin Benger Eliminated in 14th Place ($23,513)

Level 23 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Griffin Benger
Griffin Benger

We just saw a pot that had about 25% of the chips in play on the line, and saw Griffin Benger eliminated in absolutely brutal fashion. Richard Dubini raised it to 44,000 from under the gun, and it folded around to Peter Hengsakul. As he has done several times today, he over bet the pot, moving all in for 1.2 million. It folded around to Griffin Benger in the big blind, and he announced call! Dubini quickly folded, and the cards were tabled.

Benger: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Hengsakul: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Benger was in prime position to take a massive chip lead in the tournament, and the flop was safe for him, coming {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. The {4-Hearts} came on the turn, and Benger was still out in front. Well, you can probably guess what happened on the river.

River: {k-Clubs}

Benger understandably yelled in agony at the site of the card, saying "no F***!" He looked up at the ceiling in absolute shock as the 5% shot came through on the river. The stacks were counted down, and Hengsakul had Benger covered by 100,000, ending his day in unbelievable fashion.

After winning that hand, Hengsakul is now the commanding chip leader with 2.4 million.

Chad Eveslage - 15th place
Chad Eveslage - 15th place

Griffin Benger entered the pot with a raise to 41,000 only to have Chad Eveslage three-bet all in for roughly 500,000. From the big blind, Peter Hengsakul moved all in for 610,000, and after a few moments of deliberation, Benger flashed {a-}{k-} before mucking it.

Eveslage: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Hengsakul: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} board wouldn't connect for Eveslage as he was bounced out in 15th place for a $23,513 payday while Hengsakul moved to 1,120,000 in chips.

John Alexander Eliminated in 18th Place ($18,700)

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
John Alexander
John Alexander

Griffin Benger raised it up under the gun, and it folded around to John Alexander in the small blind. He moved all in for his last 230,000, and when it got to Benger, he made the call.

Benger: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Alexander: {4-}{4-}

The {4-Hearts} was in the window, but it would prove to be part of an action flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Benger had picked up the nut flush draw, and the {3-Hearts} on the turn gave him that flush. Alexander could still win if the board paired, but it didn't, as the {8-Hearts} hit the river.

After collecting that pot, Berger is now up to 820,000.
