Shahade Busts One

Level 4 : 75/150, 0 ante

Jen Shahade raised to 225, and another player three-bet to 1125. Shahade quickly moved all-in for just a little more, and her opponent called. Shahade turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and was up against {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. The board ran out {9-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. Both players made a pair of kings, but Shahade's ace kicker won the pot. The chess expert and author of Chess Bitch: Women in the Ultimate Intellectual Sport now has 4,600 in chips.

Full Double For Ho

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We saw a lot more chips in front of Ting Ho. We asked what happened and she told us she received a full double. This is how the hand went down.

A player raised to 250 preflop. The button called and so did Ho. The flop came {4-}{5-}{8-} rainbow. All three players took a free card. The turn came the {q-Clubs}. The first player checked and the button bet out 600. With action on Ho, she raised to 1,350. The first player folded. The button jammed all in and Ho snapped. The two flipped over the cards.

Ho: {q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {k-}{q-}

Ho was in the lead with two pair but could still be beaten if the river paired anything but the four. Fortunately the river was the {a-Clubs} and that gave Ho her double. She had and even 10,000 after the hand.

Straight vs. Set

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We caught the tail end of a hand the produced a painful exit for one of today's players. A player announced, "All in" on the river with the board reading {k-}{10-}{3-}{5-}{9-}, and Mandi Incorvaia immediately called. The all-in bettor showed {k-}{k-} for a set of kings, but Incorvaia turned over {q-}{j-} for the nut straight. Incorvaia now sits with 7,000, and her opponent was eliminated.
