Glick Takes Two Hits in Triple Draw

Level 19

2-7 Triple Draw

Jonathan Duhamel raised from under the gun, Michael Glick called in the big blind and then drew three cards. Duhamel took two, and called when Glick led out. On the second draw, Glick took one, Duhamel two, and Glick bet out again. Duhamel raised, and Glick called.

Glick drew one last card on the final draw, Duhamel stood pat, and both players checked.

"Deuces," Glick said, prompting Duhamel to show {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for a ninety-six.

Two hands later, John Hennigan raised in the cutoff and called a three-bet from Glick on the button. Hennigan check-called a bet after he drew two and Glick drew one, and both players drew one on the second draw. Hennigan check-called another bet.

On the final draw, Hennigan took one, Glick stood pat, and Hennigan led out. Glick called, then mucked when Hennigan fanned {8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

Jonathan Duhamel: {x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} / {x-}

Kenney completed, Duhamel called, and Kenney slowed down, check-calling a bet on fourth street. Duhamel made a pair of sevens on fifth, leading out, and Kenney called.

Kenney made a higher pair on sixth, check-calling a bet once again, and both players knuckled on seventh. Kenney showed {7-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} for nines and fives, and Duhamel mucked.

Kevin Song -- 14th Place
Kevin Song -- 14th Place

Limit Hold'em

From the cutoff seat, Kevin Song raised. Michael Glick, also known as "Mike the Hat," reraised from the button, then Song called. The flop fell {K-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and the betting and raising war ensued. Song checked, Glick bet, Song raised, Glick reraised, and Song called all in for 104,000 total. Glick held the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}, and Song held the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}.

The turn was the {4-Spades}, and the river was the {7-Hearts}. Glick's nines held up, and he busted Song in 14th place.

Limit Hold'em

After doubling through John Hennigan for a second time, Troy Burkholder raised out of the hijack seat. David Benyamine called out of the big blind, and then the Frenchman check-raised on a flop of {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Burkholder called.

The turn was the {j-Clubs}, Benyamine bet out, and Burkholder called. The {10-Hearts} completed the board, Benyamine bet out again. It was enough to put Burkholder all in, and while he was in the tank he asked the dealer what the next game was to see if it was an ante game.

Burkholder eventually called with {a-Clubs}{8-Spades} for tens and nines with an ace kicker, and he was eliminated when Benyamine showed {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a full house.

Huck Seed has earned $560,769 from this event, Mike Wattel has earned $215,444, and John Hennigan has earned $120,994. Joe Cassidy has won $137,280, but is no longer with us, as he was part of the dual elimination on the bubble with Gary Benson where the two chopped up 16th-place money.

Benson and Cassidy Bust Simultaneously; Split 16th-Place Money

Level 18
Joe Cassidy, left, and Gary Benson, right are the dual bubble boys.
Joe Cassidy, left, and Gary Benson, right are the dual bubble boys.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Gary Benson raised to 46,000 in the hijack seat, George Danzer called in the cutoff, and Kevin Song called in the big blind. All three players checked on a flop of {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, and the turn was the {5-Clubs}. Song checked, Benson moved all in for 26,000, and Danzer raised to 90,000. Song folded.

Danzer: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Benson: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Benson was drawing to the {a-Diamonds} or a heart, but was unable to survive as the {j-Clubs} completed the board to give Danzer a flush. Benson was eliminated, but with a big hand in process, there was a chance that he might not walk away empty-handed.

"George," Troy Burkholder said to Danzer. "You're my new best friend."

Stud-8

Joe Cassidy: {x-}{x-} / {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} / {x-}
Huck Seed: {x-}{x-} / {2-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} / {x-}

Seed brought it in, Cassidy completed, and Seed raised. Cassidy called.

Both players checked on fourth street, and Seed checked again on fifth. Cassidy bet, and Seed started to tank. It was during his tank that Benson was eliminated, and nearly two minutes after Benson's fate was sealed, the 1996 Main Event champion raised. Cassidy re-raised, going all in, and Seed called.

Cassidy: {6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Seed: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Cassidy's two pair was ahead, and neither player improved on sixth. Seed sweat his card on seventh, saw that it was three-sided, then ripped over the case six ({6-Clubs}) to give him aces up. Cassidy was drawing to two fours to give him a full house, but bricked when he turned over the {10-Hearts}.

He and Benson will each receive $55,947 and some change, while the remaining players are guaranteed a minimum of $111,893.

Hang's Turn to Double in LHE

Level 18
Tommy Hang
Tommy Hang

Limit Hold'em

Don Nguyen raised in the cutoff, and Tommy Hang, who along with Troy Burkholder is one of the short stacks, made it three bets on the button. Nguyen re-raised, Hang went all in for 111,000, and Nguyen called.

Nguyen: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Hang: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Nguyen held an over card, but he was nearly drawing dead after the flop fell {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. He was officially drawing dead when the {9-Hearts} turned, and the {a-Diamonds} completed the board.

Hang doubled to 222,000, and is still drawing live to make the money.
