Cada Crashes Out

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Joe Cada has had a remarkable 2013 World Series of Poker with two final table appearance, but if he wants to add a third here in the Little One for One Drop he will have to re-enter again tomorrow because he busted a few minutes ago.

Cada broke the news on Facebook:

Just busted little one for one drop. Was in the blind with k2 heArts limped pot. Flop k,2,5 I ran into 55.

Antonio Esfandiari (Seen Here Playing an Earlier WSOP Event) is Trying to Freeroll the Little One for One Drop With a Few Choice Prop Bets

During our rounds through the tournament floor, random wisps of conversation are overheard on a continuous stream, from the banal exchange of personal information between strangers, to intense strategy discussion sessions, but Antonio Esfandiari's table is always a source for compelling table talk.

Today has proven to be no exception, as the former co-host of the prop betting show I Bet You was recently discussing a series of small wagers with his tablemates, including a particularly interesting proposition regarding the number of entrants to the Main Event who will be virgins. Not virgins to poker's premier tournament mind you, but... well, you get the idea.

After setting an over/under of 31, Esfandiari continued to calculate the odds of a 21-year old man or woman visiting Vegas without having consummated a carnal relationship.

While that wager has yet to be settled, "The Magician" has apparently been up to his old tricks, as he currently sits with a neatly stacked pile of $100 bills behind his chip stack. In addition to the Benjamins, Esfandiari has also claimed a few green $25 dollar chips from the suckers at the table, proving the old maxim that the gamble never ends for a true gambler.

Unfortunately for Esfandiari, the player who had been his betting partner was recently eliminated, after his {A-}{4-} stab was called down by a pair of superior hands and no miracles appeared on board.

"Oh no...," said Esfandiari as the player's cards were tabled. "I'm gonna lose my fish."

Cody Pushing or Folding

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

It's not been the best of days so far for birthday boy Jake Cody; his stack is currently only 1,925 chips deep.

We caught him moving all in from UTG+1 for 1,525 but nobody wanted to take him on and he won the blinds and antes. Cody is sporting a Superman Man of Steel cap today and will need to heroics if he is to make it through to Day 2 in this tournament.

Waxman and Rettenmaier Cruising

Level 6 : 100/200, 25 ante

Two of the games legitimate stars have managed to build decent stacks for themselves over the past six and a half levels and look set to be heading to Friday's Day 2.

"Mad" Marvin Rettenmaier looks to have around 11,000 in front of him, while recent World Series of Poker bracelet winner Matt Waxman is armed with 9,000.

We Are Not the Same, I am a Marvin

The action folded around to a player in the cutoff, who decided this was the perfect time to steal a few blinds with a raise to 525.

Unfortunately for him, Marvin Rettenmaier held the button and stood between the raiser and his spoils. The dangerous German pro, who specializes in taking down high-roller events around the world, made the now customary three-bet to 1,150, and his opponent flatted to see the flop fall {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

After it was checked to him, Rettenmaier tossed out a c-bet of 1,700 or so chips, and this was enough to push his opponent's hand into the muck.

"Nice raise Marvin," offered another player at the table, obviously rueful that the three-bet had forced him off a hand containing a four.

Lichtenberger Chewed Up

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

Andrew "Lucky Chewy" Lichtenberger's tournament has come to an abrupt end after he ran into pocket queens.

Lichtenberger opened in late position and then called when the big blind raised all in, covering Lichtenberger. The big blind opened the {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and was nicely in front of Lichtenberger's {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Lichtenberger caught a ten on the {8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} flop, but couldn't find any further outs and was sent to the rail.

As registration is now closed, Lichtenberger will have to re-enter tomorrow should he want to continue in this special event.
