"King-High" for Yaginuma

Prior to the level change, Kevin Pollak raised to 1,300 in middle position, Jesse Yaginuma three-bet to 3,200 on his direct left, and Pat Pezzin cold four-bet to 6,500 on the button. The action folded back to Pollak, who folded as well, and Yaginuma five-bet to 10,800. Pezzin called.

Both players checked on a flop of {q-Clubs}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts}, the pair knuckled again when the {q-Hearts} turned, and the {a-Clubs} completed the board. Yaginuma tossed out a tiny bet of 6,700, and Pezzin called.

"King-high," Yaginuma announced, keeping his hand facedown.

Pezzin rolled over {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} for queens and jacks, and raked in the pot.

Jacks for Bicknell

Following a button raise to 1,700, Kristen Bicknell three-bet the big blind to 5,500. Her opponent instantly called, and after Bicknell checked the {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, he bet out 7,400.

Bicknell made the call, and then both players checked down the {A-Diamonds} on the turn and {9-Clubs} on the river to see Bicknell table her {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

Her opponent flashed the {K-Hearts} and folded as Bicknell raked in the pot to move to 68,000 in chips.

Paredes Calls Seiver

We only caught the very end of the hand, but David Paredes called a large bet from Scott Seiver on the end with {k-Spades}{9-Spades} after he flopped a pair of nines and didn't improve.

Pezzin Grabs One

Pat Pezzin
Pat Pezzin

The under the gun player raised to 1,600, and Dimitar Yosifov called. Then Catherine Dever called from the small blind and Pat Pezzin called from the big blind. The flop came {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}, and Pezzin led out for 2,000. The preflop raiser folded, and Yosifov and Dever both called. All three players checked when the {q-Spades} came on the turn, and then the {q-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Pezzin bet again, this time for 3,100. Yosifov called, and Dever folded. Pezzin turned over {k-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for top pair on the flop, and Yosifov mucked.

No Book For Pinkus

Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

While famously known for giving a copy of his book Ace on the River, to any player that busted him from a tournament, Brian Pinkus was not lucky enough to receive a copy today when he eliminated Barry Greenstein from this year's Main Event.

After a raise of 2,000 and two calls, Greenstein moved all in from the button for 20,400. The original raiser folded. The first caller, Brian Pinkus, went into the tank for a good two minutes before making the call. That lead to a fold from the other caller and brought Pinkus and Greenstein to a showdown.

Pinkus: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Greenstein: {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}

The flop came down {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Spades} giving Greenstein no help. The {K-Diamonds} on the turn paired Pinkus' live card, but also gave Greenstein outs to a gutshot straight draw. The river was the {6-Clubs} though and even though the pair double paired, Pinkus' pair of kings was enough to give him the knock out, but not a copy of Ace on the River.

Judet Treading Lightly

Toni Judet raised to 1,700 from the cutoff seat and got a single caller from the button. The flop came {5-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, and after pausing a moment Judet pushed out a continuation bet of 1,700, and his opponent called quickly. The turn then brought the {8-Diamonds}. This time Judet checked, and after his opponent slid out a bet of 3,800, Judet didn't waste too much time before letting his hand go.
