Xuan Liu Eliminated

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Xuan Liu
Xuan Liu

William Te raised to 3,600, and Xuan Liu three-bet all in for 13,600. Te called and showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. He was behind Liu's {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and he would need help. That help came on the flop when the dealer spread {7-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The turn and the river were bricks, the {7-Diamonds} and the {9-Hearts}, and Liu was eliminated.

Carlos Mortensen
Carlos Mortensen

Carlos Mortensen opened to 4,200 from middle position. The action folded around to the player on the big blind, who moved all in for her remaining chips. Mortensen made the call, before both players tabled their cards.

Mortensen: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} to see the 2001 WSOP main event champion flop a set to eliminate his opponent.

Coffman Expels The Dean

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Grayson Nichols, also known as "The_Dean221" online, began the day short stacked and was unable to run it up in the first level. Nichols got the last of his stack in preflop with the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and John Coffman called with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The board ran out {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, and Nichols wished the table good luck before exiting the tournament area.

Le on a Rampage

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Johnny Chan
Johnny Chan

We ran up to Johnny Chan, Tuan Le, and Annette Obrestad's table after seeing cameras swarming around. When we got there we saw Tuan Le involved in another huge pot, this time with Johnny Chan. There was nearly 100,000 chips in the middle and Le had a bet of 50,000 in front of him. The board read {3-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and Chan was in the tank thinking about the decision.

"This could be my tournament life right here," Chan said.

After a few minutes in the tank, Chan folded. Camera crews asked for Chan and Le to put their cards to the side so they could both be filmed for the television broadcast.

"Really?" Le said to the camera crews. "Come on man." Eventually, Le gave up his protest and put his cards to the side. Crews filmed both sets of hole cards.

"You're not gonna like that one," Le said to Chan after the hand.

"Gotta wait 'til August to see that one!" someone else at the table joked.

Aces For Gazes

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We walked up to a completed board of {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Kristy Gazes was heads up with Frederik Brink Jensen in a pot that had about 55,000. Jensen checked to Gazes, who fired out a big bet of 35,000. Jensen tanked for a couple of minutes before calling, and Gazes rolled over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} for top set. Jensen mucked, and Gazes took down the giant pot to almost double the stack she started the day with.

Yockeying for Position

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Following an under-the-gun raise to 3,500, Bryce Yockey called from a seat over and the table folded around.

The flop came a coordinated {9-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}, and the original raiser soon pushed out a continuation bet of 6,500. With position on his opponent, Yockey wasted little time raising to 16,000, and after pausing a half-minute his opponent let his hand go.

The Californian adds a few to his starting stack with that hand, helping his effort to position himself to earn a 16th career WSOP cash and first in the Main Event.

Scaife Double Check-Raises, Then Doubles Up Through Vohra

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Raj Vohra
Raj Vohra

On the flop, with the board reading {4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, John Scaife checked, and Raj Vohra bet 11,500. Scaife then check-raised to 27,000. Vohra thought for about two minutes before calling. The turn was the {a-Hearts}, and Scaife checked again. Vohra bet 16,000, and then Scaife executed the rare double check-raise, making it 45,000. Vohra thought for about a minute and then called. The {q-Hearts} completed the board on the river. Scaife led out this time, betting all in. Vohra asked for a exact amount, and the dealer counted 63,600. Vohra now went deep into the tank, thinking for a full ten minutes. Eventually, he put out a stack to call, and Scaife turned over {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for a flopped set. Vohra immediately mucked, and Scaife took a big chunk of Vohra's stack. Vohra still has 131,000, and Scaife is now up to

Quads for Weisner

Level 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

The player in middle position opened to 3,200, and was called by Melanie Weisner in late position. Another player and Rupert Elder called from the blinds, as the four saw the flop come {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

The action was checked around, as the {j-Spades} fell on the turn. Both blinds checked, before the original better threw out 5,200. Only Weisner made the call, as the {6-Hearts} completed the board.

After facing another bet of 7,000, Weisner opted to move all in for 170,000. Her opponent made the call, before tabling his {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a full house. Weisner then turned over her {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for quad jacks, eliminating her opponent from the tournament.
