Secondary Table: Newhouse Shoving Short Stack; Tran and Lehavot Battle

Level 35 : 200,000/400,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #196: On the first hand of the level it folded around to Mark Newhouse in the small blind who pushed all in for 2.6 million, and JC Tran showed Newhouse that his hand wasn't worth calling with as he mucked. Newhouse showed his hand — {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} — and collected the pot.

Hand #197: Amir Lehavot raised to 800,000 and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #198: Tran raised to 875,000 from the button and got one caller in Lehavot from the big blind. The flop came {2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades}, and when checked to Tran bet 1,050,000. Lehavot paused a beat and called. The turn brought the {5-Spades} and both checked.

The river brought the {K-Spades} and both checked again. Lehavot showed {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a spade flush, and Tran mucked his hand.

Break #5 of Day 7: JC Tran Takes Lead with 11 Remaining

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

We're now two spots away from determining the 2013 World Series of Poker November Nine. Only 11 players remain in the most prestigious tournament in poker, and we'll soon know who will be returning to Las Vegas in November to play for the world championship.

JC Tran is leading the way with 35 million in chips heading into the 20-minute break. Tran told PokerNews today that he's planning on taking a "big, big, long break" from poker after this tournament is over. He'll be able to go out on top if he goes on to win.

Amit Lehavot is within striking distance after sending Sergio Casteluccio to the rail during the past level. The Italian shoved his last 4.35 million from the button with ace-five and Lehvot called from the big blind with pocket kings. The board came up empty for Casteluccio, and he was sent to the payout desk in 14th place.

Sylvain Loosli began the level with the lead but slipped some despite eliminating Alexander Livingston in 13th place. Loosli's pocket aces held up against Livingston's ace-queen.

Rep Porter used some luck to knock out Bruno Kawauti in 15th place. Porter called Kawauti's three-bet shove with pocket sevens and was trailing Kawauti's tens, but a seven on the flop spelled the end of the Brazilian's run.

Unfortunately for Porter, he was unable to put those chips to good use. Shortly before the break, Porter lost a flip to Ryan Riess with king-jack to pocket nines, sending him out the door in 12th place for $573,204.

We'll be back in 20 minutes to bring you the exciting conclusion to Day 7!

Hand #192: JC Tran — who after moving up to around 30 million the previous hand — raised to 650,000 from the button and won the blinds and antes.

Hand #193: Matthew Reed raised to 600,000 from under the gun, and Tran reraised to 1.5 million from the cutoff. It folded back to Reed who thought just a beat and folded.

Hand #194: Amir Lehavot raised to 600,000 from the button and got one caller in Marc McLaughlin playing from the small blind. The flop came {9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades} and after McLaughlin quickly checked, Lehavot set out a bet of 750,000 and McLaughlin called.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and another check from McLaughlin, and this time Lehavot checked behind. The river brought the {J-Clubs}. McLaughlin checked one more time, and Lehavot sat in thought for a while before checking as well. McLaughlin showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a pair of tens, and Lehavot mucked.

Hand #195: Tran raised to 650,000 from under the gun, then Jay Farber reraised to 1.4 million from the hijack seat. It folded back to Tran who called, and the flop came {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Both players checked, then the turn brought the {2-Hearts}. Tran led this time for 1.55 million and Farber called.

The river brought the {9-Diamonds}. Tran carved out a bet of 2.25 million and Farber instantly folded.

Tran goes to break with a stack of around 35 million now, currently leading the final 11.

Feature Table: Last Four Hands of the Level

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #251: Carlos Mortensen raised to one million out of the small blind, winning the pot.

Hand #252: Ryan Riess raised to 600,000 in first position, Sylvain Loosli defended his big blind, and the flop fell {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Loosli checked, Riess continued for 475,000, and Loosli called. The turn brought the {8-Diamonds}, Loosli checked again, and Riess took down the pot with a bet of 925,000.

Hand #253: Mortensen raised to 600,000 in the cutoff, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #254: David "Raptor" Benefield raised to 600,000 from the cutoff, Michiel Brummelhuis defended his big blind, and the dealer fanned {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. The two checked, and the turn brought the {8-Clubs}. Brummelhuis led out for 1.05 million, Benefield called, and the {4-Hearts} completed the board. Brummelhuis fired out 2.25 million, Benefield called, and the Dutchman showed {k-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for a pair of kings.

Feature Table

Hand #246: Ryan Riess opened to 600,000 from under the gun and Michiel Brummelhuis three-bet to 1.6 million from the cutoff. Sylvain Loosli four-bet all in from the big blind with the big stack. Both Riess and Brummelhuis folded.

Hand #247: Carlos Mortensen raised to 600,000 in the cutoff and took down the pot.

Hand #248: David Benefield raised to 600,000 in the cutoff and Ryan Riess three-bet to 1.925 million from the small blind. Benefield mulled it for about 60 seconds before he folded.

Hand #249: David Benefield raised to 600,000 in the hijack, Sylvain Loosli called from the cutoff, and Ryan Riess three-bet to 2.225 million from the button. The blinds folded, Benefield folded, and so did Loosli after about 30 seconds in the tank.

Hand #250: Ryan Riess raised to 600,000 in the cutoff and Rep Porter three-bet shoved for 6.45 million from the button. Action folded back to Riess who after about 45 seconds opted to call.

Riess: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Porter: {K-Spades}{J-Spades}

The window card was paint, but the flop came down {Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} bringing no help to Porter. The {5-Spades} turn left him only six outs to survive, and the {7-Clubs} river was not one of them. Porter finished in 12th place, earning $573,204.

Riess, meanwhile, is up to 17.65 million.

Secondary Table: Fours for Tran Send Him into Chip Lead

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #189: JC Tran was first to act, and he raised to 650,000 with Jay Farber making the call next to speak as Marc McLaughlin came along from the button.

The flop landed {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and Tran tapped the table as Farber followed suit before McLaughlin tossed in a bet of 875,000. Tran reached into his stack and grabbed calling chips as Farber slid his cards to the muck.

The turn of the {2-Diamonds} was followed by checks from both players as the {A-Clubs} completed the board on the river. Tran cut out a bet of 2,650,000 to put McLaughlin to a decision as he sat back in his chair slightly before eventually folding after about a minute of deliberation.

Hand #190: From the cutoff Marc McLaughlin raised to 600,000 and he collected the blinds and antes.

Hand #191: Amir Lehavot opened to 600,000 from under the gun and Matthew Reed called from the cutoff along with JC Tran from the small blind. With the action on Jay Farber in the big blind, he three-bet to 1.8 million as Lehavot turned to Reed and asked for a confirmation of his chip stack before sliding chips back and forth in his hands for close to a minute before folding.

Reed quickly folded but Tran would make the call as the dealer dropped a {5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop. Tran checked and Farber pushed out a bet of 2,350,000 which Tran called as the {7-Spades} landed on the turn. Both players checked and the {8-Spades} was delivered on the turn as both players checked again.

Tran tabled his {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a pair of fours, and Farber flashed his {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} for ace-high and a busted flush draw to slip to just under 20 million in chips.

Secondary Table: McLaughlin and Tran Split a Big One

Level 34 : 150,000/300,000, 50,000 ante

Hand #183: Amir Lehavot raised to 600,000 from the cutoff and claimed the blinds and antes.

Hand #184: Matthew Reed opened for 600,000 from the button, and he won.

Hand #185: Marc McLaughlin raised to 600,000 from the hijack seat and once again all folded to the open.

Hand #186: This time it was JC Tran's turn to win the blinds and antes, in his case with a raise to 650,000 from the button.

Hand #187: Jay Farber raised to 625,000 from the button, and both Lehavot and McLaughlin called from the blinds. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. It checked to McLaughlin who bet, and the others folded.

Hand #188: Tran raised to 650,000 from the hijack seat, then Marc McLaughlin reraised to 1.7 million from the small blind. It folded back to Tran who called, and the flop came {4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Both checked, then the turn brought the {2-Clubs}. McLaughlin pushed out a bet of 2.1 million this time. Tran riffled a small stack of chips for a while, then counted out the calling chips and riffled those a short while before pushing them forward.

The river was the {3-Spades}, putting a straight on the board. McLaughlin checked, and Tran didn't waste too much time putting out a bet of 3.8 million.

Now it was McLaughlin doing the riffling and thinking, looking studiously at the five community cards and the big pile of chips next to it. Finally he made the call, turning over his {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}. Tran had {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, meaning both were playing the board and the pot was chopped between them.
