Agression Pays Off for Gates

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

In a blind versus blind battle, the action folded to Kelvin Gates in the small blind. He call the additional 3,000 only to be raised by Amit Makhija in the big blind. Gates called the 17,000 and a flop of {3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} was dealt.

Gates led into Makhija with a bet 23,000 and Makhija raised to 55,000. After some thought, Gates called.

The {2-Hearts} was dealt and Gates was contemplating his options when he decided to lead out for 40,000. This time it was Amit that was thinking and he eventually folded.

Meanwhile, Dan Harmetz was eliminated from the tournament in 27th place.
