Day 2 of the 2013 World Series of Poker Event #7 $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em began with 148 players from a 1,837-player field returning to action in the Amazon Room at the Rio All-Suites Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. After ten levels of intense play, just ten players remained to comprise the “Unofficial Final Table” (official WSOP final tables are at nine) including chip leader Amit Makhija, Matt Waxman, Brent Hanks, Jason Koon and Eric Baldwin.

Here’s a look at the “Unofficial” Final Table:

The day defined by eliminations including those of Keven Stammen (114th - $2,248), Steven Kelly (80th - $3,207), Ari Engel (50th - $5,075), David Peters (46th - $5,075), Annette Obrestad (42nd- $6,051) and Paul Wasicka (33rd - $7,307), who were among the 138 to fall.

As far as the survivors go, Makhija was relatively quiet until late in the evening when he suddenly vaulted up the chip counts after eliminating Ronald Crabtree (16th place), Kelvin Gates (13th place) and Cole Jackson (11th place). On the other hand, Matt Waxman was busy building a stack, first by cracking the queens of Joe Nadal and then being involved in the most controversial hand of the tournament (one that could very well have save his tournament).

Who will take down the $305,952 first-place prize and seventh gold bracelet of the 2013 WSOP? We’ll find out tomorrow starting at 1:00 p.m. PST, which is when Day 3 of Event #7 $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em kicks off. Join us then as we bring you all the action on the way to a winner!

Cole Jackson Eliminated in 11th Place ($17,491)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Cole Jackson
Cole Jackson

Cole Jackson went all in for his final 125,000 from under the gun holding {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}. It folded around to Amit Makhija, in the big blind, who called with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The flop of {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} was good for Jackson and after the {2-Clubs} turn card, it looked like he might double up. The {8-Diamonds} river, however, dashed Jackson's hope, giving Makhija a set and eliminating Jackson in 11th place.

Seven More Hands

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The tournament director has just announced that each tables will play seven more hands before calling it a night. Unless someone drops between now and then, we'll be coming back to Day 3 with 11 players.

Rajaee Wazwaz Eliminated in 12th Place ($17,491)

Rajaee Wazwaz went all in for his final 150,000 from under the gun. Jess Dioquino called from the hijack and the rest of the table folded. Wazwaz tabled {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and he was up against the {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} of Dioquino. Wazwaz had some hope on the {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Spades} flop but the {k-Spades} turn and {10-Spades} river did not improve Wazwaz's hand and he was eliminated in 12th place.

Kelvin Gates Eliminated in 13th Place ($13,805)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Kelvin Gates - 13th Place
Kelvin Gates - 13th Place

After action folded to Kelvin Gates, who hails from Holladay, Utah, he raised to 30,000. Amit Makhija then three-bet all in from the small blind, the big folded and Gates called off his remaining 50,000.

Gates: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Makhija: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

Gates got it in good, but there was paint to be had on the {q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. Makhija found a lady to take the lead and leave Gates in need of an ace. The {J-Hearts} turned opened a bunch of other doors as Gates picked up a straight and flush draw, but he'd miss all his outs when the {3-Spades} blanked on the river.

James "Chevy" Beard - 14th Place

After taking a big hit post break, James Beard had been struggling as a short stack for the last and final level of today's play. He pushed all-in a few times before he was eventually called by Brent Hanks and eliminated from the tournament.

Beard got it in under the gun with {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}, lofting in his remaining 6,800 into the pot. He was called by Hanks, who showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}. The board came {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Spades}, giving Hanks a pair of queens and missing Beard, who was awarded $13,805 for 14th-place finish.

Dioquino Doubles Through Baldwin

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

It folded around to Jess Dioquino on the small blind who raised to 30,000. After quite a bit of thought, Baldwin, the big blind, went all in. Dioquino snap called and turned up {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}, Baldwin had {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. The board of {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Dioquino's aces are good for a double up.
