But It Was Suited

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Kevin Chiem three-bet to 4,500 and then called a four-bet shove for 13,000 with the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. His opponent had {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} but Chiem got there on the turn of a {3-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} board.

One hand later he was involved in yet another hand, not even finished yet with stacking the chips. He raised and called a three-bet from Lee Davy only to quickly check-fold on the {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} flop. It was Davy who led for 5,200 and didn't have to show any further aggression to win the pot uncontested.

Calculated Risk Pays Off

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Phyllis Storz put her 4,900 over the line from late position and Ryan Sackett took a “Calculated risk.” as he put it and made the call with {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. Storz was marginally ahead with her {a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}.

The cards were dealt {4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}. A sharp intake of breath from the table as the turn fell and Storz made a gracious exit.

Instant Shove On The Turn

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

On the {3-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop, Charompol CJ Hongthong led for 5,000 and was confronted with a raise to 13,000 by Jessica "panda burr" Lamm. CJ made the call and then instantly moved all in once the {7-Spades} appeared on the turn. Lamm folded while taking advantage of a massage and dropped below average.

First Player Above 100k

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Peter Alba appears to be the first player to accumulate more than 100,000 in chips. A player moved all in for 17,000 or so from early position and had done so previously for a couple of times. Dennis Glover folded his small blind but Alba snap called in the big blind with the {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The all in player only had {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and his "one time please" was denied by the dealer on the {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} board.

We have 94 players left and will approach the money bubble very soon.

Sun Rises

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

The flop was {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Alexander Sun was facing a bet of 4,500. He responded by moving all in. His opponent had him covered and took a while to make up his mind before making the call.

Sun sighed and turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} but was in great shape against his opponents {a-Spades}{4-Spades}.

No scary cards as the turn came the {k-Clubs} and the river the {2-Clubs} to deliver a double up for Sun.

Almost There

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We have 93 players left after a runner runner bad beat story on table nine. Jose Zaragoza tried to eliminate one further player after raising to 2,300 from under the gun and then calling all in for 6,300 with the {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. His opponent had {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} and immediately shut down all hopes of a similar scenario on the {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{8-Spades} flop. The {3-Spades} turn and {8-Diamonds} river completed the board.

All spectators have been asked to leave the tournament area as we are so close to the money.

Hand for Hand

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

With 91 players left in the tournament one more player will leave empty handed.

The players are on the money bubble and play will now go hand for hand at each table.

All In But Luttbeg Survives

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Charompol CJ Hongthong was leading the {7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{10-Spades} flop for 5,000 and both Mo Nuwwarah as well as David "Four Racks" Luttbeg made the call to see the {A-Hearts} on the turn. CJ fired 15,000 and Nuwwarah moved all in, Luttbeg did so as well for his last 29,600. CJ ended up folding a straight and flush draw as per table chat.

Luttbeg: {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Nuwwarah: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The {A-Spades} river didn't let the bubble burst, it was also the very last hand prior to hand for hand mode came into effect.

Connors Bubbles in 91st

Mike Connors opened for 2,400 and was called by big stack Jay Graunstadt. The two players saw a flop of {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}. Connors checked and when Graunstadt bet 6,000 Connors moved all in.

Graunstadt quickly called and when the tournament director arrived he instructed them to turn over their hands.

Connors {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Graunstadt {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Graunstadt had flopped the straight. The turn {2-Spades} and river {q-Diamonds} saw all the remaining players make the money.

Commiserations to Connors who was disappointed but extremely gracious in defeat, informing PokerNews that he was a dealer at Harrah’s and when he wasn’t dealing he liked to play a ton of MTTs on WSOP.com under the username “ValueTown” where he's had an account since Jan 19th.
