Hands #151-154: Negreanu Makes Straight in Three-Bet Pot

Level 23 : 12,000/24,000, 6,000 ante

Hand #151: Paul Volpe raised to 55,000 and Negreanu called, picking up one card at the draw. Volpe stood pat.

Negreanu checked and Volpe knocked the table back. Volpe showed {Q-}{j-}{9-}{7-}{3-} and took down the pot.

Hand #152: Negreanu popped it up to 70,000 and Volpe called. Both players take one card at the draw. Volpe led out post-draw for 90,000 and Negreanu announced a call.

Negreanu fanned {9-}{8-}{5-}{4-}{3-} and Volpe flashed a losing {10-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{x-} before his hand was pulled into the muck.

Hand #153: Volpe opened to 50,000 from the button and Negreanu came over the top for 150,000 total. Volpe let it go and Negreanu pulled in the pot.

Hand #154: Negreanu raised to 70,000 from the button and this time it was Volpe who made a three-bet, pushing 180,000 into the middle of the table. Negreanu called.

Volpe picked up one new card and Negreanu opted for two. Volpe fired 150,000 post-draw and Negreanu picked up his hand from the felt.

"I made a straight," said Negreanu with a small chuckle. He folded his cards and Volpe picked up the pot.
