Kessler "Gets Nothing"

Greg Raymer just took a seat in Brasilia Room.

With one player already all in before the flop, Allen Kessler bet on the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop in a side pot against David Williams. Williams called and both players checked the {k-Spades} turn. A {7-Diamonds} hit the river and Williams check-folded to Kessler's bet.

Kessler showed {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for aces with a six-two low. The all-in player, however, had a scooper with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades} for a flush and a five-four low.

There was a brief pause as the dealer tried to figure out where to send the pot.

"You get nothing, Allen," another player at the table said.

In truth, "Chainsaw" did win a small side pot against Williams.

Speaking of the former Main Event runner-up, one of the players who recently sat down in the Brasilia Room is Greg Raymer, the man who defeated Williams heads up in 2004.

Gabriel Nassif is down to his last four chips, as he called on the end with the board reading {10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and was shown {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for quads.

"It's good, obviously," Nassif said.

Hua Rivers Boat for Three-Quarters

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We found C.K. Hua showing down {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} on a board of {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, good for fours full for high and ace-three low. His opponent showed {a-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a flush and the same low, meaning last year's second-place finisher in this event took three-quarters of the pot.

Speaking of players who made deep runs last year, Tony Ma, who got fifth, is among the notables we recently saw.

Fricke Makes a Boat

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

Three players put in one bet apiece on fourth street with the board reading {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, and a {7-Hearts} double-paired the board. The first player checked, and Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke bet. The third player called and the first folded. Fricke showed {7-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a full house, and his opponent revealed {a-}{j-}{6-}{x-} as he mucked face up.

Also, David Williams has joined the field.

Defending Champ Gets Profitable Chop, Still Down Early

Level 3 : 50/100, 0 ante

We found last year's winner of this event, Calen McNeil, betting on the end with the board reading {4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. One player folded, Jason Smith called, and a player who checked out of the small blind agonized for about a minute before calling.

"Nut flush," McNeil announced as he turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for the flush with no low. Smith showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for the nut low, and the small blind mucked his hand.
