Puchkov Scoops Another

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Konstantin Puchkov continues to lap the field, as he just scooped yet another pot with {a-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{10-Hearts} on a board of {2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{j-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}, good for a nut flush and a seven-ace low.

With the board showing {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and three other players in the pot, Maria Ho bet and was able to induce folds from all three. Ho, who took 2nd in a WSOP event in 2011 for $540,020, is off to a good start today having added nearly 40,000 in chips since the start of the day.

Hennigan Down

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
John Hennigan
John Hennigan

John Hennigan raised from early position and was called by a player in late position and Erik Seidel in the big blind. Hennigan bet the {6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Spades} flop and was called by both opponents. He bet again on the {10-Spades} turn, and only the late-position player stuck around. On the {k-Clubs} river, both players checked.

Hennigan's opponent showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for a low draw that backed into a straight, and Hennigan mucked.

Ivey Continues to Hang On

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Down to his last 1,600 in chips, Phil Ivey called on the button and four players saw a flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. The player in the small blind bet, the other two in the hand called, and Ivey put in his last 400. The turn was the {10-Hearts} and the player in the small blind bet again. The other two players got out of the way and the hands were turned over:

Ivey {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

Ivey was behind and would need a nine or diamond on the river to survive. The dealer put both out on the river as it was the {9-Diamonds} to give Ivey a winning flush. If anyone can run up a stack, it'll be Ivey.

We found Chris Tryba scooping a large pot on a board where he had flopped a wheel with {a-}{3-}{x-}{x-}. He's now among the chip leaders after running hot early today.

Ivey Hits Low to Survive

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

Phil Ivey was all in and at risk with the board showing {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} holding {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and his opponent holding {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. "Deuce,
said Ivey, knowing he needed help to survive. The dealer put out the {8-Diamonds} on the river which while it wasn't a deuce was good enough to give Ivey a low and keep him alive.

"I was so happy to see that card," whispered Ivey to his neighbor.

Merksick Eliminates Bojang

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante

We found Ismael Bojang considering a wager from Tony Merksick on fourth street with the board reading {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Bojang shrugged and put in the rest of his chips, a raise of 200. Merksick called.

Merksick: {2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Bojang: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Bojang had top two, but Merksick had turned a flush and a low. The {10-Diamonds} river was no help to Bojang, and the German made his way out.
