Maria Ho Doubles Up

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Aditya Prasetyo opened the action with a raise and Maria Ho made it three bets. Prasetyo made it four bets and Ho capped the action at five bets leaving herself with just 10,000 in chips. Prasetyo called and the flop came {J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. The last of Ho's chips went into the middle and the cards were turned face up:

Prasetyo {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Ho {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Prasetyo was in the lead but Ho was drawing strong. She would hit trip deuces on the {2-Spades} turn and fill up on the {3-Clubs} river. There was no low so she scooped the much needed pot.

Durand Ousts Rutter

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Stuart Rutter put his last 8,000 in, and Marc Durand reraised to knock out the big blind.

Durand: {a-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Rutter: {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The flop was great for Rutter: {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, good for two pair. The {9-Hearts} turn kept him in position to scoop, but a {3-Diamonds} river gave Durand the wheel and the scoop.

Heimiller Gets Half

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

We came upon a large pot on the end at Table 444. The community had come {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Dan Heimiller: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Frankie O'Dell: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Cossette: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Somehow, Heimiller's aces had stayed good for high, and he snagged half of the pot while his opponents had to chop the low.

Kal Raichura Chip Leader Once Again

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

We heard a player groaning in disgust and when we got to the table we could see why. There was a massive pot in the middle of the table with the board showing {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. The player who was visibly upset, and eliminated, had {Q-}{Q-}{X-}{X-} for flopped top set. Another player had {10-}{10-}{X-}{X-} for flopped middle set and while not out was certainly crippled. Kal Raichura in the meantime had {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a flopped straight and flush draw that hit the Broadway straight on the river. Raichura ended Day 1 as the chip leader and now here late on Day 2 finds himself once again sitting on top of the leader board, just slightly ahead of Konstantin Puchkov.

We are down to five tables - 45 players.

Maria Ho thought she was done for.
Maria Ho thought she was done for.

Maria Ho bet from the small blind after a {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Diamonds} flop and got called by big blind Greg Raymer. Aditya Prasetyo raised on the button, Ho raised all in for less than another bet, and Raymer called. The turn brought a {9-Diamonds} and two checks, and Raymer check-folded the {6-Clubs} river.

"Two pair," Prasetyo said, showing {a-}{3-}{4-}{6-}. Ho turned over {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and got up to leave, unaware she'd made better two pair. She quickly sat back down when Raymer pointed out her hand.
