Martin Finds a Double

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Jesse Martin
Jesse Martin

Two spots off the money, Jesse Martin was one of the shortest stacks in the field. Not anymore, though, as he successfully doubled up against Brian Hastings.

Martin: ({A-}{4-}) / {6-}{3-}{9-}{8-} / ({7-})
Hoyt Corkins: (X-X) / {2-}{9-}fold
Hastings: ({4-}{3-}) / {2-}{7-}{4-}{Q-} / ({8-})

Martin completed the bet on third, and Corkins raised. Hastings called behind, and then Martin called as well.

"Good luck, Jesse," said Brandon Shack-Harris from across the table to Martin, knowing he had only a few thousand in chips behind.

On fourth street, Martin led with a bet, Corkins folded, Hastings raised, and Martin called all in for 11,000 total. When the hands were turned up, it was Martin at risk with a draw to a six-four low against Hastings' draw to a seven-four low.

After all the cards were run out, Martin finished with a seven-six low, beating Hastings' eight-seven to double up.

Schulman in Trouble

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Nick Schulman has been knocked down to just 55,000 chips after he just lost a big hand against Todd Dakake. We're two spots from the money and Schulman's going to need some help to secure at least a min cash.

Schulman called a bet from Dakake on every street before ultimately folding on seventh street.

Schulman: (X-X) / {8-}{5-}{8-}{Q-} / (X)
Dakake: (X-X) / {2-}{6-}{9-}{8-} / (X)

Bach Doubles

Level 14 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Nick Schulman completed and both Brian Townsend and David Bach called. Townsend bet on fourth and both players called as Bach led on fifth with both players calling. On sixth, Townsend led out for 16,000 and Bach raised to force Schulman out before Townsend calling.

Schulman: (X-X) / {4-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} / (X)
Townsend: (X-X) / {4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} / (X)
Bach: (X-X) / {3-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{J-Clubs} / (X)

On seventh, Townsend checked and Bach moved all in for his last 6,000 and Townsend called.

Bach tabled his {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Townsend mucked after showing his {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}.

As Townsend dropped to 45,000, Bach climbed to 230,000 in chips.
