Jason Mo vs. John Juanda

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jason Mo limped from the small blind, John Juanda raised to 34,000 in the big blind and Mo called to see a {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop.

Mo check-called 24,000 from Juanda to see the {7-Clubs} turn, which both checked. The {K-Clubs} river completed the board and Mo bet 160,000, resulting in a fold from Juanda.

"Pair of Fives!"

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Darren Elias raised to 22,000 from the cutoff and was called by Al Decarolis on the button, Kevin Song in the small blind and Jason Mo in the big blind.

They checked down a board of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Song yelled out "Pair of fives" without tabling his hand.

"Show it," urged Darren Elias.

"Pair of fives," yelled Song again, this time showing {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. His opponents mucked and Song took down the pot.

Blinds: 6,000/12,000

Ante: 2,000

Action Slowing Down

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Al Decarolis limped in from under the gun, Kevin Song raised to 27,000 in the hijack, and Decarolis called.

The players checked it down as the board came {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and Song won the hand with {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} for ace-high.

Over on the neighboring table, Calvin Anderson raised to 23,000 from the hijack and Nick Schulman and Phil Ivey called from the button and big blind respectively.

The flop was {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, Ivey checked, Anderson checked, and Schulman bet 30,000. Only Ivey called.

The two checked on the flop ({a-Clubs}) and the river ({6-Spades}), and Schulman pulled in the pot with {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

Kicker Problems

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Calvin Anderson put in a raise from the hijack seat, Phil Ivey called in the big blind, and the flop fell {2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Ivey check-called a bet of 22,000, then check-called another 45,000 on the turn ({3-Diamonds}).

The river was a repeat ten - the {10-Spades} - and both players rapped the table. Ivey turned over {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a pair of kings, but he was out-kicked by Anderson's {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Ivey Binks Two-Outer; KO's Katchalov

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Eugene Katchalov (Day 1) - Eliminated
Eugene Katchalov (Day 1) - Eliminated

Eugene Katchalov was first to act, and raised to 20,000. JC Tran three-bet to 50,000 on his direct left, Phil Ivey moved all in for 325,000 on his direct left, and Katchalov tanked for a minute or so before calling all-in for 275,000. Tran folded.

Katchalov: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Ivey: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}

The Ukrainian was in great shape to double, but the {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop gave Ivey a set of nines. The {q-Spades} on the turn left Katchalov with two outs to survive, and the {k-Diamonds} on the river was not one of them.

He hit the rail, while the nine-time WSOP bracelet winner is now up to 654,000 chips.

Triple For Schulman

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Nick Schulman open-shipped all in from under the gun for his last 74,000. Noah Schwartz called from the next seat over and Calvin Anderson went into the tank on the button. He came out with a raise to 205,000 and action folded back over to Schwartz. He opted to kick in his cards, leaving Schulman and Anderson left to table theirs.

Anderson: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Schulman: {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{K-Spades}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}, giving Schulman kings and queens for the triple. The two-time bracelet winner now has about 230,000 in chips.

Ivey KO's Bonomo

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Justin Bonomo - Eliminated
Justin Bonomo - Eliminated

After losing a big chunk of his stack to JC Tran, Phil Ivey raised to what looked like 20,000 on the button. Justin Bonomo moved all in for around 150,000 out of the small blind, and Ivey called.

Ivey: {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Bonomo: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Ivey improved to two pair on a flop of {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{a-Clubs}, but Bonomo could still survive with running kings, tens, or a queen for a straight. The turn ({4-Diamonds}) and river ({8-Spades}) were both bricks, however, and Bonomo was eliminated.

Ivey is back up to 330,000 chips.
