Campbell Takes Biggest Pot Yet Off Alspach

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Louis Campbell just became massive chip leader.
Louis Campbell just became massive chip leader.

Louis Campbell just took a huge chunk of Dan Alspach's stack with {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} on a board of {8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. We believe most of the money went in on the river, and Alspach held {a-}{10-} for top two on the flop.

Richard Liotta Eliminated in 20th Place ($9,910)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Richard Liotta 20th.
Richard Liotta 20th.

Richard Liotta must have thought he'd struck gold when Zachary Gruneberg shipped it in ahead of him and he woke up with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} in the big blind.

Gruneberg could only lay {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} on the felt, but picked up a gutterball on the {10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop. Sure enough, the {k-Spades} turn made him Broadway and after the {6-Spades} river, Gruneberg had cracked Liotta's aces to send him home 20th.

Jonathan Neckar Eliminated in 22nd Place ($9,910)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Jonathan Neckar 22nd.
Jonathan Neckar 22nd.

Jonathan Neckar got outflopped by Jeff Gross in a massive pot moments ago.

We picked up the hand with Gross shoving 190,000 over a 27,000 bet from Neckar on a {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} flop. Neckar made the call with {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}, Gross had {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and after a {5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} run out, Neckar was down to just 35k.

He raised the next hand to 27,000 and got two callers. The rest went in with {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} on a {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop against Louis Campbell holding {j-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}.

Neckar was sent packing after the {a-Hearts} turn and {6-Spades} river.

Mike Smith Eliminated in 23rd Place ($9,910)

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Smith 23rd.
Mike Smith 23rd.

Mike Smith returned from the break with just 15,000 and open-shoved with the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

Two seats over, Arthur Baraan re-shoved for 70,000 and after Jason Senti thought about it for a minute, he let the big blind go.

Baraan had {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and it held on a {3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{10-Hearts} board to send Smith home.

Gross' Optimism Proves Warranted

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Jeff Gross pushed all in for 107,000 and was called by Mike Smith.

"I'm gonna have to get lucky," Gross said.

Smith revealed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

"Oh, I can win that," Gross said, turning over {k-Hearts}{q-Spades} for live cards.

No sooner had he said it than the flop came {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, giving him trips. The {9-Spades} gave Smith a straight draw, though only half of it was good, and the {3-Spades} river was a blank.

Smith will have less than two big blinds after break.
