Van Alstyne Survives

Level 15

Omaha 8

Adam Owen raised from under the gun and it folded around to James Van Alstyne in the small blind who cut out a three-bet. The big blind folded and Owen flatted. The flop came down {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and Van Alstyne continued with a bet. Owne called and the {10-Diamonds} hit the turn. Van Alstyne bet again, this time for the rest of his chips - 1,100. Owen folded his cards and Van Alstyne was awarded the pot. He's now up to about 20,000 in chips.

Pesta: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{5-}{2-}{4-} / {x-}
Baker: {x-}{x-} / {7-}{4-}{A-}{J-} / {x-}
Walters: {x-}{x-} / {Q-}{7-}{6-}{J-} / {x-}

Just before the break, we picked up with the action on fifth street to see Bruce Walters already all in and David "ODB" Baker and Vietezslav Pesta playing for a side pot. Pesta led out on fifth with 5-2-A showing and Baker cut out a raise. Pesta called for his tournament life and all of the hands were tabled.

Baker showed {2-}{3-} for a seven perfect and Pesta rolled over {5-}{4-} for a pair of fives with a wheel draw. Baker continued to hold his lead through sixth and extended it even further on seventh, pulling a {6-} and making a sixty-four. Pesta pulled an {8-} and was unable to best Baker's hand. Walters, on the other hand, flashed a second jack and was also eliminated from play. Baker scooped the massive pot and now has 137,000 in chips.
