Chris Dotson is a resident of Jersey City, New Jersey who frequents Atlantic City's thriving tournament circuit, but he has journeyed westward to compete in the World Series of Poker.

Dotson has already made a few deep runs in the popular Daily Deepstack events held here at the Rio, but today the man known as "superluckybox" on Twitter is hoping to make a name for himself in a bracelet event.

We caught Dotson contesting an early pot by three-betting to 625 from late position, putting a bit of pressure on an opener who made it 250 to go from early position. That player flatted to see the flop fall, and he quickly tapped the table.

Dotson's c-bet did the trick and forced a fast fold, sending a smallish pot his way.

Madsen Parked

After two limpers entered the pot in front of him, Jeff Madsen did the same from the cutoff, only to see Chris Park squeeze from the button with a raise to 525.

The limpers left the scene rather quickly and Madsen then took his time deliberating before cutting out a three-betting stack of 1,800.

Park wasted little time in shipping the rest of his stack forward, and Madsen essentially beat him to the pot with his call, putting his own stack at risk in the process.

The two were flipping for all the marbles, and when the flop rained down Madsen took the lead with his pair of kings. The pro's expression remained stoic, however, as he knows better than most that fortunes can turn in a flash.

Phil Laak opened to 450 from under the gun and Gabriel Nassif three-bet, and action folded back around to Laak who slid the rest of his chips in the middle, around 2850. Nassif quickly put calling chips out and tabled his hand.

Laak was in bad shape and stood up to leave, until the was shown as the door card. Laak said "wow" and then heartbreak. The dealer slid out the flop revealing the and right behind the queen. The on the turn and on the river changed nothing and Laak fell victim to poker's evil side.
