Jason Somerville Eliminated in 18th, Yves Kupfermunz in 17th Place ($7,553)

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Jason Somerville
Jason Somerville

Yves Kupfermunz raised to 15,000 and Robert Paddock called on the cutoff. One seat over, Jason Somerville moved all in for 25,000 and the blinds folded, both other active opponents called. On the {6-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, the fireworks started. Kupfermunz potted for 84,000 and after some consideration and getting the count for the chips behind (53,000), Paddock announced all in. "Alright," Kuofermunz said and pushed the stack forward.

Three way showdown:

Somerville: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Kupfermunz: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Paddock: {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{5-Clubs}

The {5-Spades} turn gave Paddock the lead with a straight and the {Q-Hearts} river meant that we would lose two players. Somerville and Kupfermunz both take home $7,553.

Jason Somerville took a big hit.
Jason Somerville took a big hit.

Action folded to Robert Paddock in the small blind, and he raised to 13,000. Jason Somerville potted to 39,000, and Paddock made the call. After the {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop, Paddock pushed all in for about 40,000, and Somerville called.

"I have aces," Somerville said.

"I have live cards," Paddock replied.

Paddock: {k-}{j-}{10-}{8-}
Somerville: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The {q-Clubs} turn gave Paddock a straight, and Somerville was drawing dead.

Once Upon a Pot

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Greg Merson limped from under the gun and so did Brandon Shack-Harris one seat over. Loren Klein limped the button and John O'Shea filled up in the small blind before Matthew Ryan raised it up to 36,000. Only Merson called but then folded when Ryan fired 90,000 on the {Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop. Peter Charalambous suggested that Ryan should have shown kings.

You Got It

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

In the very last hand of the third table once we got down to 18 players and before the redraw was completed, the {4-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{A-Clubs} flop was already completed. Robert Paddock made it 26,000 to go and sent Steve Billirakis into the think tank. He eventually grabbed some chips for the call, pondered about his decision once again and then did call. Paddock knocked on the table and said "You got it."

The bluff attempt was caught and Billirakis turned over {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs} as winning hand.

Mark Johnson Eliminated in 19th Place ($6,213)

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Mark Johnson - 19th Place
Mark Johnson - 19th Place

John O'Shea opened for 15,000 in middle position, and Mark Johnson potted from the small blind for 51,000. O'Shea put Johnson all in for about 40,000 more, and Johnson called.

Johnson: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
O'Shea: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}

A {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades} flop was curtains for Johnson, and the {a-Diamonds} turn gave O'Shea a full house to seal the deal. The {6-Diamonds} finished out the board.

Players are redrawing for the final two tables.

Merson And Klein At It Again

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Loren Klein raised the button, Greg Merson potted and before we knew what happened, both had their chips in. Merson sighed when he got shown the {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Hearts} by his opponent and turned over {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. He did however improve as the board ran out {4-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{K-Hearts} to give him two pair. Easy come, easy go.
