Heading into the dinner break it looks as if Chengce Jiang is just keeping his nose in front. The other players have spent all day watching him showing down winning hands, and if they have recently joined the table then they have quickly been told about it.
In a recent hand the cut-off raised, got called by the button and Jiang made the call in the small blind and the big blind came along. The flop was . First to act Jiang led right out for 600. There was a succession of folds and looks on their faces that said they wouldn’t be surprised if he had the seven deuce.
It was an all in pre-flop for 10,025 chips after a betting war broke out between Chengce Jiang and Mike Sowers. The latter was at risk but held the better hand in versus . The board was no threat and Sowers doubled up.
An additional 56 players decided to put up $1,000 for 10 big blinds just before the close of entry.
Phil Ivey was one of those players. He came in the back way, played one hand, and bust out.
Apparently 56 players bought in for 10 big blinds. Among the more fortunate was Martin Finger, who doubled up straight away with versus the of Kory Kilpatrick on a board.
The board was already complete when Ilkin Amirov put a short stack all in for his last 7,000. The opponent tank called with and Amirov scored the knockout with for a turned full house. He is now among the bigger stacks in the field. Below we also have some further updated chip counts.
Steve Zolotow is another late entry, but he is fairing rather better than some of the others, and has got his stack up to 7,500.
He is sat to the left of Antonio Esfandiari and they just played a blind on blind hand. The flop came and a check from Esfandiari saw Zolotov bet and take it down.
Zolotow is now acting as the “Brain” in another game of “Lodden thinks.” and we just witnessed another player hand over yet more dollars to the Magician as he came out top yet again.
