Singontiko the Penultimate Elimination Before the Money

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Right after coming back from dinner, David Singontiko was eliminated in 58th place. Ludovic Riehl did the deed, and it happened when he opened with a raise and then called when Singontiko three-bet-jammed his last 14 big blinds.

Singontiko held {a-}{j-}, but it was way behind the {a-}{q-} of Riehl. The nine-high flop failed to help Singontiko, and a {Q-} on the turn actually left him drawing dead as it paired Riehl.

Now that we're down to the final 57 players, all but one of which will get paid, hand-for-hand player will be initiated.

Kanit Doubles on the Bubble

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Ravi Raghavan opened for 9,000 from late position and then called when Mustapha Kanit three-bet to 22,500 from the big blind. When the flop came down {2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, Kanit bet 18,000 and then called off for 75,000 total after Raghavan shoved all in.

Kanit: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}
Raghavan: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

Kanit held the granddaddy of all hands, but he needed to dodge Raghavan's flush draw to avoid becoming the bubble boy. That's just what he did too as the {2-Spades} blanked on the turn followed by the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Pfutzenreuter Can't Bluff Schulman

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

From the cutoff seat, Nick Schulman raised to 8,500. Timo Pfutzenreuter made the call on the button, and everyone else folded before the dealer placed out the {K-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. Both players checked.

The turn was the {J-Hearts}, and both players checked again, this time to see the {Q-Diamonds} complete the board on the river. Schulman checked, and Pfutzenreuter bet 22,500. Schulman tanked and called.

Pfutzenreuter showed the {8-Spades}{4-Spades} for just an eight-high bluff. Schulman showed the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for a pair of queens and scooped in the pot.
