Nassif Gains, Hall and Adeniya Chop

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

The new level started with slightly less action than before. We had one bigger pot in favor of Gabriel Nassif, and one chop between Galen Hall and Martins Adeniya.

They were all in preflop, Hall held {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and his opponent from the U.K. turned over {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{A-Hearts}. Some hope appeared on the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Spades} turn with the flush draw for Hall, but the {Q-Diamonds} river was a blank.

On the table of Nassif, we arrived on the {8-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts} river and the Frenchman announced a pot-sized bet for 74,000. Adam Laskey called and was shown {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. "Yeah, I feared that," Laskey said before shipping over the chips.

Andreas Martens Eliminated in 20th Place ($7,989)

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Andreas Martens
Andreas Martens

Andreas Martens would get the last of his chips in against Dmitrii Valouev. The hands were as follows:

Martens: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Valouev: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts}

The flop could come {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to give Martens a pair of fours. The {6-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing. However, the {7-Hearts} on the river would give Valouev a flush which would be more than enough to eliminate Martens in 20th place.

Devin Looney Eliminated in 22nd Place ($7,989)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Devin Looney
Devin Looney

After being crippled in a hand against Gabriel Nassif when Nassif limped with {A-}{A-}{X-}{X-} and then re-popped Looney's raise and Nassif's aces held up, Looney would be eliminated a few hands later at the hands of AP Phahurat when the latter would hit a flush. Looney was eliminated in 22nd place, good for $7,989.

Will Durkee Eliminated in 23rd Place ($7,989)

Dapreesch Scates opened for a raise to 12,000 and Will Durkee reraised to 41,000. Scates reraised all in and Durkee made the call:

Scates: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Durkee: {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Durkee would need to improve if he was going to survive, but the flop came {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} to give Scates top set and Durkee stood up and gathered his things. Nothing would change on the {5-Spades} turn or {A-Diamonds} river and Durkee was eliminated in 23rd place.

Adam Laskey was responsible for the second bustout in a row on his table. A short-stacked Thomas Pronold got it in preflop with the {4-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs} from the cutoff seat and Laskey looked him up with the {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

The board ran out {Q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Laskey made the nut straight with his two kickers to boost himself well above average.

Derek Miller Eliminated in 25th Place ($7,989)

It all escalated on the {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{A-Clubs} flop when Derek Miller got his stack of more than 150,000 in with {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{A-Hearts}{7-Spades}. He got called by Matthew Dames with the {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{A-Hearts} and was in rough shape. The {9-Hearts} turn provided some hope for a straight but a blank on the river knocked out the Brit.

Jordan Cossette

There were three all ins at the same time and Jordan Cossette was the next player at risk. He got it in preflop with the {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-}{8-} and was called by Adam Laskey with the {A-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-}{9-}. There was no help on the board and the pair of tens held up to eliminate Cossette in 26th place.

Douglas Moss Eliminated in 27th Place ($7,989)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Douglas Moss

Douglas Moss was one of the shortest stacks on the last three tables and he got it in preflop for the last 45,000 chips with {7-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Erick Lindgren looked him up with {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Spades} and had a huge sweat on the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} board.

Ultimately, the pair of nines won the pot for Lindgren and Moss headed to the payout desk.
