Muehloecker Needs Three Barrels

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Thomas Muehloecker raised to 6,000 from early position and got two callers from one seat over as well as the player in the big blind. On the {4-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Spades} flop, the Austrian fired 9,500 and only the player in the big blind called.

Muehloecker applied the same pressure again on the {3-Spades} turn for 19,500 and was called before betting 34,500 after the {K-Diamonds} river. This time the player in the big blind check-folded and the Austrian quickly stacked the new chips.

We arrived to the table on the turn with the board reading {7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and Thomas Muehloecker had slid out a bet of 16,500. His opponent on the button made the call and the dealer flipped over the final card: the {9-Hearts}.

Muehloecker led out on the river for 29,000 and his opponent spent a minute counting his chips, removing his hat, rubbing his head, shuffling his stack, and then made the call. Muehloecker turned over {8-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a turned straight and the other player mucked, saying "nice hand."

Silver Stacks

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

It was a five-way flop when the under-the-gun player limped, Max Silver called in the cutoff, and the button and both blinds came along. The dealer slid out {4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and action checked to the player who open-limped preflop. He led out for 7,000, Silver called, and the other three players folded.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the same player bet again, this time for 16,000. Silver called and the dealer flipped over the {j-Clubs} on the river. Not giving up, the player fired a third time. He made it 28,000 and Silver called. "Good call," the bettor said.

Silver flipped over {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for two pairs, a better hand than the {8-}{8-} in the pocket for his opponent.
