Mattern Scores a Knockout

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Arnaud Mattern defended his big blind against the raise from a player in early position and saw the {K-}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} flop. His opponent made the continuation bet and Mattern pushed him all in for about 30,000 in total. The opponent called with {K-}{J-}, but was in bad shape against the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} of the Frenchman.

Both the turn and river blanked and Mattern is close to six digits.

Dolliver with the Unlikely Double

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Ronald Dolliver limped from early position and Jonathan Bodden and Max Pescatori also limped from the button and small blind respectively. Jason Helder moved all in from the big blind and only Dolliver made the call.

Dolliver: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}
Helder: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop was {8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs} and Helder was way ahead with a set of kings. The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Dolliver started calling for another club. Instead, the river was the {7-Hearts} and gave Dolliver the winning straight.

Curzio Sends Woelfel to the Rail

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Wade Woelfel raised from early position and Patrick Curzio flat called from one seat over, the rest of the table folded. On the {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop, Woelfel made the continuation bet and Curzio called, Woelfel then check-called the 10,000 of his opponent after the {3-Spades} turn.

On the {7-Spades} river. Woelfel moved all in for 42,700 and Curzio took his time to reconsider before tossing in the chips. "You got it," Woelfel said and Curzio showed {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}. "We have to see all cards anyways," said the dealer and Woelfel was forced to turn over the {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} before heading to the payout desk.

The very same table features two other big stacks as well.

Bodden Loudly Wins a Big One

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Jonathan Bodden
Jonathan Bodden

We didn't catch the action, but the players at the table were able to reconstruct the hand for us. Jason Helder and Jonathan Bodden were heads-up after Bodden called Helder's three-bet preflop. After the {5-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Helder bet, Bodden moved all in and Helder made the call.

Helder: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Bodden: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Helder went to looking for a king or seven instead of diamonds, but the board completed {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Bodden's flush was bigger. Bodden celebrated loudly after the hand and received a warning from the floor. Bodden is now at about 300,000 and the apparent chip leader.

Will Givens is Back

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

After an open-raise to 4,200 and a call, Will Givens three-bet to 12,000 from the button and received one caller. The {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} flop was checked through and the same applied for the {4-Diamonds} turn.

Once the {3-Clubs} river completed the board, the opponent check-called 22,000 by Givens and exposed the {J-Spades} before mucking his cards to the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} of Givens.
