Klein Takes from Engel

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Loren Klein was the initial raiser and got called by Ari Engel one seat over. Klein kept betting throughout the hand on a {10-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{8-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{10-Spades} board, and ultimately made it 28,800 to go on the river. "You really want me to fold?" asked Engel with a smile. He kept thinking about his decision; Klein called the clock on him.

Ultimately, Engel mucked his cards just before the end of the level.

Kiletto Spikes Another Two-Outer

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Lily Kiletto raised and called the all-in of a short-stack for 27,600 with {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}, only to see {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} turned over by her opponent. Kiletto spiked a two-outer on the {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs} board to score the knockout.

Shortly afterward, another player busted to reduce the field to 53.

Kessler Exits

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Short-stacked Zachary Kessler moved all in from late position and was called by both David Schaerf on the button and Justin Pechie in the big blind.

Both active players checked the {3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop and Schaerf checked the {3-Spades} turn. Pechie bet 7,000 and it folded out Schaerf.

Kessler: {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Pechie: {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades}

"Queen," pleaded Kessler, but his cry went unanswered when the river came the {6-Clubs}.

Le Marchand Busts Berntsen

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

We walked up to an all in bet from Stanislas Le Marchand and Knut Berntsen contemplating his action. After some thought, Berntsen made the call, but it was bad news for Berntsen, as Le Marchand tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} versus his {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

The board ran out {10-Spades}{a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} and Berntsen was sent packing.

Schaerf Doubles Through Hallam

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

David Schaerf has doubled through Antony Hallam in a battle of the blinds.

The action passed around to Schaerf in the small blind and he moved all in for 29,300 in total. Hallam decided to look him up and the cards were flipped onto their backs.

Schaerf: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Hallam: {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}

Hallam caught a seven on the {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop, but still needed more help from the board in order to prevent a double up for Schaerf. The {2-Spades} on the turn gave Hallam outs to a straight, but the {9-Hearts} on the river improved Schaerf to an unnecessary set of nines and the double up was confirmed.

Hartmann Busts with Frustration

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Ryan Hartmann was all in for his last 12 big blinds and got called by {Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. Hartmann held {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} and his pair remained ahead until his opponent completed the nut straight on the {J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Spades} turn. Not even the {3-Clubs} on the river saved Hartmann, who made his exit from the tournament. "Oh wow, that was ugly," said Allyn Jaffrey Shulman.
