Schulman and Israelashvili Eliminated

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

After the break the pace has picked up and we're already down to 28 players, and one knockout removed from a redraw.

Nick Schulman just busted holding {A-}{Q-} versus JC Tran's {9-}{9-} and on the other table it was Roland Israelashvili who also hit the rail.

Two Pair for Wolansky

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

From the small blind it was Samuel Golbuff who raised and Steven Wolansky defended his big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Golbuff bet, Wolansky called.

On the turn the {4-Spades} hit and Golbuff bet again, Wolansky raised and Golbuff called.

The river was the {5-Diamonds} and after some tanking it was Wolansky who bet again when Golbuff checked. Golbuff made the call and mucked when his opponent showed {Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

Besides this pot Golbuff has been chipping up a lot while Wolansky really needed this one to stay in contention.

Who's Stopping Danzer's Quest For POY?

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
George Danzer
George Danzer

Well, for now it's certainly not Kevin Song. Danzer, who's still slightly in the lead for this year's WSOP Player of the Year after John Hennigan took down the $50k Players' Championship last night, raked in a big pot just now to pot him in contention for yet another bracelet.

Song raised from early position and Danzer called from the big blind. The flop came down {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Danzer checked to Song who bet. Danzer raised, Song three-bet and Danzer four-bet.

Song called.

The turn was the {5-Spades} and Danzer bet, Song called. On the river, the {9-Diamonds}, Song called another bet and shook his head as the German turned over {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

"Set over set again?" Danzer asked Song, who took quite a while before finally mucking his cards.

Gironda Out

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Vincent Gironda, who held the chip lead on Day 1 for a bit, has just been knocked out. Gironda moved all in for just 2,000 chips under the gun plus one and from his left it was Jeff Thompson who raised.

Samuel Golbuff three-bet from the cutoff and both blinds folded after which Thompson called.

The flop brought out {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and Thompson quickly check-folded to Golbuff's bet.

Golbuff: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Gironda: {K-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}, {A-Clubs} and Gironda was knocked out.

Huge Hand For Sjavik

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

The board read {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} when Kevin Song and Jared Talarico checked to Jan Sjavik who bet. Song folded and Talarico called after which the turn was the {Q-Spades}.

The turn was the {Q-Spades} and Talarico check-called a bet. On the river the {5-Hearts} hit and once more Talarico check-called a bet.

Sjavik showed {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Talarico angrily mucked.

"Can the best hand win just once?" Talarico sighed as he lost quite a chunk.
