Chip Leader Chops

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Four players took a flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, including poker coach and media personality Bart Hanson. The action checked to Hanson, who tossed out 700, and only one player called.

The turn was the {10-Hearts}, the player led out for the pot (2,200), and Hanson tank-called.

The rest of the money went in on the river ({8-Hearts}), and the short-stacked player showed {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

"Jacks and eights?" Hanson asked, leaning forward to examine the cards.

The player nodded, and Hanson revealed {j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} for a low. He received half the pot, and remains one of the chip leaders with 33,300.

The tournament clock says that there are 441 entrants, surpassing last year's number of 434. This is quite impressive considering there are still a few levels of registration remaining, there is a large tournament happening over near the strip, and there are still over a thousand players in the Monster Stack.

Dave Inselberg check-called a bet from Tony Cousineau on a board of {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Spades}, and the river was the {a-Clubs}. Inselberg checked, Cousineau potted, and Inselberg re-potted, moving all in. Cousineau instantly called.

Cousineau showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for Broadway, and Inselberg thought he had the same hand, but {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} was simply two pair.

"Sorry, man" Cousineau offered.

Inselberg gathered his things, then exited.
