After losing a pot early on to Robert Mizrachi, Paul Volpe has recovered nicely by nearing 60,000.
In one recent pot, he had bets in front of him on multiple streets matched by a lone opponent on a board of , but Volpe's opponent finally relented and gave up when Volpe bet the river.

Fabrice Soulier bet 3,400 on a flop, and one player called. The big blind, Jaspal Brar, who had checked, shoved all in for about 10,000, and Soulier got a count on the player behind before reshoving. The third player folded.

Brar had a big wrap and a low draw, but Soulier's nut low draw with a set was in command. The board bricked out with the and , leaving Soulier's set best.
Also at that table, Melissa Burr, who has been having a fantastic World Series of Poker, appears to have busted out.
Aleksey Filatov has roughly doubled his stack in the early going on Day 2.
In one recent pot, he busted an opponent when the board came , and Filatov's made a full house on the river against a player who had been playing for two pair on the flop.
"You've got to be f****** kidding me," Filatov's opponent said as he gathered his things. "You were so f****** crushed on the turn. I knew you didn't have s***."
One of the players at the table pointed out that Filatov had caught up on the turn. The busted player stalked off.
Maxim Panyak bet into Bradley Ruben after a flop, and Ruben got it all in against the shorter stack. Ruben showed for queens full, while his opponent had the last queen. Ruben's hand stood through the turn and river, and he collected Panyak's stack.
Also at this table, David "ODB" Baker was eliminated a short time ago.
On a board of , a player at David Bach's table check-called two barrels from Bach before leading out on the river for nearly pot, leaving himself just a few thousand behind. Bach decided to fold.
