Mo Gets Some Talking Chips

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

We get to the table with a flop of {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and a bet of 975 in front of Maurice Hawkins who was in the big blind. His lone opponent is Scott Montgomery, best known for his fifth place finish in the 2008 WSOP Main Event. Mongtomery moves all in and Hawkins makes the call and is at risk with {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}. Montgomery is on a draw with {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} but Hawkins has two of his outs. The turn is the {J-Diamonds} and the river is the {8-Hearts} and Hawkins scored the much needed double up to 8,100 in chips.

And with that double up, the talking started. Nothing unusual for Hawkins, who had a ninth place finish in the Millionaire Maker for $128,150.

Shannon Shorr Taking Donations

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

With 900 in the pot and the board showing {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, Shannon Shorr made a bet of 575. His opponent, bobbing his head in rhythm to music, made the call. The river was the {4-Clubs} and this time Shorr led out for 1,600.

His opponent's head continued bouncing and he casually tossed the rest of his chips into the middle as if he didn't have a care in the world for a total of 3,175. Shorr thought for a few seconds and made the call. His opponent sat there for a moment, oblivious, and then seeming surprised that Shorr had called turned over {A-Clubs}{3-Spades} for ace high. Shorr had flopped the nut straight with {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and his straight was still good.

As Shorr was stacking chips, his now eliminated opponent walked out of the tournament room, his head still bobbing side to side, almost as if he were one of the Butabi brothers from Night at the Roxbury.
