Trau Busts Grippo

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

Nick Grippo and Felix Trau got it all-in preflop. This spelled bad news for Grippo, who had {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} versus the {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} of Trau.

The board ran out {6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Grippo was gone in 32nd place.

Buck Shot

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 500 ante

The action passed to Kevin Buck in the small blind and he raised all-in for around 30,000. Johan Guilbert quickly called to put Buck at risk of busting.

Buck: {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}
Guilbert: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The {5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{J-Spades} flop was safe for Guilbert's nines, as was the {5-Spades} turn. The {9-Clubs} improved Guilbert to an unnecessary full house and Buck exited the tournament area to collect his money.

Blinds Gettin' Busy

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

We walked up to Hunter Cichy and Jeremy Joseph in the blinds preflop. Cichy was facing a reraise from Joseph and thought for a moment before moving all in. Joseph then went into the tank, eventually making the call.

Cichy: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Joseph: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Joseph hit the rail in 35th place.

Places 37-42

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Take a look at the players who finished in 37th through 42nd place and picked up $6,969 for their efforts:

Smirnov in High Spirits

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Anton Smirnov has a massive stack of 480,000 and looks to be the chip leader here in the Mixed Max.

This is Smirnov's fifth cash of the summer. His largest (for $10,140) was his reward for a 14th-place finish in the Ante-Up event last week.

Kelly Chips Up

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Dan Kelly is rapidly approaching 200,000 chips after picking up back-to-back pots.

First, Kelly led for 26,000 from the big blind on a board reading {9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Johan Guilbert tank-folded. The second started with a raise to 8,500 from Brandon Cantu, a three-bet from Kelly and a Cantu fold.

Koon Gets Hermanated

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Mark Herm raised to 8,500 preflop and Jason Koon three-bet-shoved for 40,000 from the next seat over. The action passed back to Herm, who had one of the easiest decisions of his career to make because he had pocket aces. Koon flipped pocket sevens onto their backs and the rest, as they say, is history.
