Russian mixed game star Vladimir Schemelev has just been knocked out on the bubble by the hand of Steve Landfish.
Landfish and Phil Hellmuth were kind enough to help us reconstruct the hand in which Schemelev started with split aces. Schemelev didn't improve his hand, after being all in on third street, but Landfish did.
Landfish started with and two clubs, which ultimately turned into a club flush. Schemelev was knocked out and the remaining 16 players are now in the money.

Yu was the bring-in, and action folded around to Cummings. She completed all in for 3,500, and then Obst raised to 8,500. Yu called.
On fourth street, Yu led with a bet, and Obst called. Then on fifth street, Obst did the betting with Yu calling. Both Obst and Yu then checked seventh street.
Obst couldn't beat Yu's for two pair and mucked his hand, giving Yu the side pot. Cummings showed the for a better two pair and she scooped the main pot to triple up.

After Ashby completed the bet on third street, Grapenthien raised from the next seat. Action folded back to Ashby, and he called to see fourth street. Grapenthien bet double after he paired up with nines showing, and then Ashby tank-folded.
A couple hands later, the following hand happened to give Ashby the double up he was looking for:
Ashby: / /
Grapenthien: / /
After Ashby completed the bet, Grapenthien raised behind him once again — and once again showing a lower card than Ashby was. Action folded back to Ashby, and he called. On fifth street, Ashby checked, Grapenthien bet, Ashby raised, Grapenthien reraised, and Ashby called all in.
Grapenthien was ahead with a pair of kings to Ashby's pair of queens. Ashby's board then ran out such that he made queens and fives. Grapenthien stayed with just a pair of kings after hi run out, and Ashby doubled up.

Landfish showed that he had three of a kind and added that he wouldn't dare to bluff.
On the next hand Schemelev completed and Greenstein raised. Schemelev called and on check-called a bet on fourth. On fifth street Greenstein bet again and Schemelev folded.

"No pair," Ashby said.
Losev showed and for a second Ashby thought the Russian had just ace-ten high. Ashby showed ace-queen high but his opponent had a pair.
