Ramdin Doubles Through Boyd

Level 12
Victor Ramdin
Victor Ramdin

2-7 Triple Draw

Victor Ramdin opened his button with a raise and Dutch Boyd called out of the big blind. Both players took one new card at the draw and Boyd came out swinging. Ramdin called and they both took one new card once more. Boyd fired for a second time and Ramdin stuck around.

Both players stood pat at the final draw and Boyd bet. Ramdin called for his last 1,000 and Boyd fanned {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}. It was no good, however, as Ramdin showed {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} for number two to scoop the pot. Ramdin now sits around 13,200 while Boyd has dropped to 6,400.

Lauria Doubles Twice

Level 13

No-Limit Hold'em

A short-stacked Robert Lauria was all in under the gun for his last 675. James Carroll popped the action up to 3,000 and the rest of the table folded.

Lauria: {Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}
Carroll: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

The board fell {10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}, delivering Lauria a river jack to stay alive in the tournament. On the next hand, Chris Moneymaker opened to 1,200 from middle position and Carroll called from the button. Lauria moved all in from the big blind and Moneymaker called. Carroll opted to let it go.

Moneymaker showed {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} against Lauria's {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs}. Things looked bright for Lauria after he flopped top pair on {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and he rode that all of the way to another double after the turn ({2-Hearts}) and the river ({A-Spades}). He now has about 9,600 in chips.
