Back in Action

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Players are back and playing some PLO - the tournament is four away from the money so we should hit hand-for-hand bubble action soon.

Tran Shows the Nuts

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Phil Laak opened to 12,000 from the hijack and JC Tran called from the cutoff. It was folded to Sergey Rybachenko in the big blind who made the call.

The flop came {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Rybachenko and Laak checked to Tran who made a bet of 21,000. Both players folded but not before Laak said "I folded blockers."

"Disciplined laydown," smiled Tran, as he showed {A-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for the flopped Broadway straight.

Neumann Jams on Kornuth

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Three players checked to Chance Kornuth on the button with the board reading {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, and he bet 27,000. JC Tran called in middle position, as did Marko Neumann on his left. On the {a-Diamonds} turn, Kornuth saw two checks in front of him, and he potted for 144,000. Tran mucked quickly, but Neumann took longer.

"Pot," he told the dealer after a few minutes, eliciting a quick fold from Kornuth.

"You guys were supposed to fold," Kornuth said.

Kornuth Knows How to Raise the Pot

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

We arrive at the table and Phil Laak has bet 22,000 into a pot of 35,000 with the board showing {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Sergey Rybachenko called and the action was on Chance Kornuth who firmly said "raise the pot" - which the dealer announced was a raise to 124,000. Laak and Rybachenko folded and J.C. Tran chided Kornuth by saying "is that all you know how to do? Raise the pot?"

Kornuth smiled as he stacked his newly acquired chips.

Trickett Eliminates Kozlov to Reach Bubble

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

A player raised to 15,000 at Table 347, and Sam Trickett called. Martin Kozlov potted it, and Trickett was the only caller. On the {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs} flop, Trickett forced Kozlov in for his last 70,000 or so, and Kozlov quickly called.

Kozlov: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Trickett: {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}

Kozlov had the best hand for the moment, but Trickett had plenty of equity with a pair and a wrap. He binked his straight, sending Kozlov out in 47th so the tournament is now on the money bubble. Hand-for-hand play has begun.

Studdard Bubbles Out

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
The players remaining will all be paid.
The players remaining will all be paid.

Jarred Graham bet 30,000 on a {9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{j-Spades} flop, and Darius Studdard moved in for just 2,000 more and was obviously called.

Studdard: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Spades}
Graham: {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Studdard had an overpair and blockers to Graham's draw, but the {k-Spades} spiked on the turn. Studdard could still win if he filled up, but the {a-Clubs} hit, no help to Studdard.

Force Gets a Double, Still Short

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Leif Force raised to 15,000, and Miltiadis Kyriakides three-bet to 35,000. Force called, and the two got in for Force's last 20,000 on the {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop. Force was in total command with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for top set against the {a-}{j-}{j-}{k-} of Kyriakides, and he survived.

Another KO for Kyriakides

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Miltiadis Kyriakides got it all in on a flop of {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} against Michael Liebgorin, who was shorter-stacked. Kyriakides held {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a pair and a flush draw, while Liebgorin also had diamonds in his {k-}{6-}{7-}{4-} hand, but only his straight draw was live.

"Small straight!" he called.

The dealer didn't deliver, placing first the {a-Spades} then the {10-Spades} down.
