Wheels Out On a Boat

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Brett Wheeler opens to 9,500, Simeon Naydenov raises to 20,000, Wheeler moves all in and Naydenov makes the call putting Wheeler at risk.

Wheeler: {A-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Naydenov: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

A classic race was underway and Wheeler needed some help. The flop was exactly what Wheeler was looking for, rolling out {9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} giving Wheeler the lead. The turn was another great card for Wheeler, dropping the {a-Diamonds}. The river though was the the {5-Hearts} giving Naydenov a full house and Wheeler was down in 35th for $7,717.

Gross Gutted by Angelil

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Steve Gross
Steve Gross

Steve "gboro780" Gross opened for 9,000 from middle position and was met by a three-bet to 20,000 from Rene Angelil, famously known as the husband and manager of singer Celine Dion. Action folded back to Gross and he paused a few beats before announcing that he was all in for 80,000 or so. Angelil made a quick call.

Angelil: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Gross: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

It was a bad spot for Gross, and he failed to get lucky as the board ran out clean.

Meanwhile, Greg Konrad has been eliminated from the tournament on 37th place for $6,390.

Baker Halves BigHuni

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Troy "Toby" Baker is playing in his very first WSOP tournament and may crown a deep run with a final table appearance. Just now he doubled up through Chris "BigHuni" Hunichen. Hunichen raised to 9,000 from the button, Baker clicked it to 23,000 in the small blind and Hunichen four-bet to 42,000. Baker moved all in for 119,000 and was called.

Hunichen: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}
Baker: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The {2-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} board ran out sweat-less and Hunichen lost about half his stack.

Inselberg Flops the Flush

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

David Inselberg raised from late position and got two callers including Christopher Bonita in the blinds. The {J-Spades}{A-Spades}{K-Spades} flop turned out to be a disaster for Bonita as he got it in with {J-Clubs}{K-Hearts} after a little betting war with Inselberg. The latter called with {3-Spades}{6-Spades} and doubled through for 134,500 after the {A-Clubs} turn and the {9-Hearts} river completed the board.

Frank Patti is enjoying a smooth ride so far today. In his latest pot, a player in late position opened to 10,000, Patti raised to 24,000 from the big blind and the late position opener made the call.

The flop was dealt {6-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, Patti lead out for 17,000 and his opponent made the call to see the turn {6-Diamonds}. Again Patti lead out, this time for 26,000 and his opponent threw his cards in the muck.

Jeff Cote Eliminated

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Chris Hunichen three-bet two hands ago, folding against a four-bet. He raised again, winning the blinds and antes before the third time was the charm. BigHuni attacked the blinds and Jeff Cote moved all in for 47,500 with {A-}{10-}, Hunichen called with {A-}{9-} and spiked one of the three nines of the deck on the flop.
