Fitzgerald Triples With Bullets

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Mark Radoja
Mark Radoja

Richard Fitzgerald, Mark Radoja, and a player on the button were all in preflop. The button player had Radoja and Fitzgerald covered and at risk, Radoja having the smaller of the two.

Fitzgerald: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Radoja: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Button: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Fitzgerald was in front going into the flop and the {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board would keep it that way. Fitzgerald tripled up to 100,000 and Radoja was busted in 59th for $4,539.

Naydenov Pounces on Patel

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Elish Patel
Elish Patel

Action folded to Simeon Naydenov in the cutoff and he raised to 5,000. The button folded, and then Elish Patel announced that he was all in for 29,700. The big folded and Naydenov, who had some chips to spare, thought long and hard before making the call.

Patel: {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Naydenov: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

It was a good call by Naydenov as he had Patel dominated.

"Sit down, it's going to be a chop," someone at the table told Patel when he stood up. The {k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop suggested otherwise. Patel didn't look hopeful, and what little hope he may have had disappeared after the dealer burned and turned the {9-Diamonds} to leave him drawing dead.

The meaningless {Q-Spades} was put out on the river for good measure, and then Patel was escorted to the payout desk to collect $3,893 for his 64th-place finish.

Lin vs. Radoja: Off to the Races

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

WSOP bracelet winner Mark Radoja opened for 5,200 only to have John Lin three-bet all in for 24,300 from middle position. Action folded back to the Canadian and he asked for a count before making the call.

Radoja: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
John Lin: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}

It was a flip, and Lin managed to make it through the tough part when he survived the {3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop. The {7-Spades} turn meant all he needed to do was dodge a ten and jack on the river to survive. That's just what he did, too, as the harmless {7-Clubs} peeled off.

Pattni Pulls in the Pot

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Rupesh Pattni raised preflop in late position and was raised all in by a player on the button. Action folded back around and Pattni made the call putting his tourney life on the line.

Pattni: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Villian: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Pattni was ahead going into the flop and after a {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs} board, his king kicker gave him the best hand to scoop the massive double.

Dobrovolskii Gets Chips

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

From the hijack, Vladimir Dobrovolskii raised and Edmilson Oliveira reraised all in from the cutoff. Dobrovolskii made the call and the cards were put on their backs.

Dobrovolskii: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Oliveira: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Oliveira was at risk and in trouble as a classic race ensued. The {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} board had no help for Oliveira and he was knocked out in 71st for $3,893. Dobrovolskii now up to 125,000.

Gross Flop for Merkow

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Steve Gross
Steve Gross

Gregg Merkow got his last 15,000 all in preflop and was racing against Steve Gross.

Merkow: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Gross: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Merkow was on his feet to see if he could find an ace, queen, or hearts, but he was left shaking his head when the {4-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop gave Gross a set and a hammerlock on the hand. The {A-Clubs} turn paired Merkow, but it was of no consequence and actually left him drawing dead. The meaningless {K-Clubs} completed the board on the river and then Merkow took his leave from the tournament in 73rd place.
