Three-Bomb From Velador

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Paul Senter completed from the small blind, and Luis Velador popped it up to 160,000. Senter called, and the flop brought {6-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Senter check-called 150,000, then 400,000 more after the {9-Hearts} turn. The {4-Diamonds} hit the board, and there was a seemingly eternal pause. Finally, someone said something to Velador to let him know Senter had checked.

"Oh, I was waiting," he said with evident surprise. "I'm all in."

The bet put Senter at risk for 1.56 million, and he leaned back in his seat and rubbed his neck. After about two minutes of thought, he let his hand go.
