Cahill Shows the Bluff

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante
Seamus Cahill
Seamus Cahill

Seamus Cahill has been moved to a new table and he seems intent on making an early statement. Cahill was in the big blind looking at a flop of {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades} and check-raised a 4,200 bet to 15,000. His opponent called.

The turn card was the {k-Spades} and Cahill move all in, easily covering his opponent who didn’t like this development and mucked his cards. As the pot was being pushed to Cahill, he ostentatiously turned over one card: The {2-Diamonds}.

Anton Makiievskyi sat next to him and chuckled, advising to save those plays up for when he is on TV so everyone can see.

Jaka Runs Into Tens

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, a player checked over to Faraz Jaka who fired out 1,600. Jaka's opponent called and the {2-Diamonds} dropped down on fourth street.

Action checked to Jaka for a second time and this time he opted to knock the table back. The {4-Spades} finished the board, prompting Jaka's opponent to bet 4,000. Jaka called, but mucked his hand after seeing his opponent's {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Despite this hit, Jaka is still thriving from where he began today as he now sits on 95,000.

MacPhee Gets Value from Second Pair

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Duy Ho raised in early position, David Wilhoit called near the button, and Kevin MacPhee defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, MacPhee checked, and Ho continued for 1,800. Both Wilhoit and MacPhee called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts}, both players checked, and the {3-Hearts} completed the board. MacPhee instantly led out for 3,800, Wilhoit was his only caller, and the EPT Berlin champion showed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for a pair of kings.

Wilhoit mucked.

Lehmann Stays Alive

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Noah Schwartz opened for 1,500 from middle position and received a call from Ali Davar on the button. Georg Lehmann came along from the big blind, and three players saw a flop of {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Lehmann checked, as did Schwartz, and Davar bet 6,000.

Lehmann responded by check-raising all in for 15,675, Schwartz folded, and Davar quickly called.

Davar: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Lehmann: {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Davar held a big pocket pair, but Lehmann flopped both straight and flush draws. The {A-Diamonds} turn was no help to Lehmann, but the {9-Diamonds} turn was, giving him the aforementioned straight.

River Check-Raise by Van Hoof

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Dutch pot-limit omaha specialist Jorryt van Hoof just skyrocketed up the chip counts after taking down a big pot.

Our Dutch colleague told us how Van Hoof raised before the flop holding two jacks; four players called. The flop brought {Q-}{J-}{7-} and Van Hoof check-called 2,500. The Dutchman check-called again on a {3-} turn when his opponent bet 4,500.

The river brought out a {2-} and again, Van Hoof checked. This time, his opponent bet 6,500 and Van Hoof put out a huge check-raise to 55,000.

Van Hoof's opponent called with {Q-}{J-} and the Dutchman showed his flopped set to take down this big pot.

Mclellan Involved In Another Big Pot

Level 7 : 300/600, 75 ante

Duncan Mclellan likes to push every edge and when it works he takes some stopping. He is unlikely to back down from most confrontations and is often seen putting his opponents to the test playing big pots.

On a flop of {9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Clubs} Mclellann moved all in and Phongthep Thiptinnakon, who had a similar stack size, quickly made the call.

Mclellan turned over the {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flush draw and Thiptinnakon had top pair {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}. If Mclellan wanted clubs then he only wanted one. The turn {4-Spades} wasn't one but the river {j-Clubs} was one of the cards he was looking for.

The dealer counted the stacks down and Mclellan just had Thiptinnakon covered.
