Time Runs Out On Waxman

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Matthew Waxman
Matthew Waxman

Andrey Zaichenko opened with a raise to 25,000 from middle position, and Matt Waxman called on the button. In the big blind was Nick Yunis, and he called as well to see the flop come down {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. After Yunis and Zaichenko checked, Waxman bet 33,000. Yunis called, then Zaichenko called.

The turn was the {A-Clubs}, and action checked around to see the {6-Clubs} pair the board on the river. Yunis and Zaichenko checked, then Waxman bet 66,000. Yunis check-raised to 202,000, and this sent Zaichenko deep into the tank for a minute or two. He eventually folded, but then it was Waxman's turn to tank. He thought for several minutes before finally Kyle Ho called the clock.

The floor staff arrived at the table, issued to 60-second clock to Waxman, and then began to 10-second countdown when it was reached. Waxman couldn't decide in time, and his cards were swiped away from him and into the muck. Yunis won the pot and moved to 1.46 million in chips. Waxman was clipped back to 1.263 million.

Below are the full chip counts after the hand from Table 428.

Zachary Hirst opened in the cutoff to 27,000 only to have Matthew Smith three-bet to 74,000 from the small blind.

Smith: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Hirst: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Hirst's queens held up as Smith was bounced to the rail just a few orbits shy of first break.

"I'm All in, Honey Bunny!"

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Matthew Leecy raised to 27,000 in the hijack seat, Marius Pospiec called on the button, and Daniel Miles moved all in for 139,000 out of the big blind.

"I'm all in, honey bunny!" he yelled to his wife on the rail.

"Come on!" she said excitedly.

Leecy tanked for a bit before isolating, moving all in for over 500,000, and Pospiec folded.

Leecy: {q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Miles: {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}

"Double-suited," Brian Hastings joked as they waited for the ESPN cameras.

"We need an ace!" Miles' wife yelled from the rail.

The camera finally arrived, and even though Miles didn't pick up an ace he still survived as the board came {6-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, more than doubling to 329,000 chips.

Leecy slipped to 370,000.

Andoni Larrabe

The ESPN stage just saw its first all-in confrontation today. Andoni Larrabe opened to 25,000 from the cutoff and Brad Sailor shoved for 168,000 from the button. Action folded back to Larrabe, who asked for a count before opting to call.

Sailor: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Larrabe: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board rolled out an uneventful {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades}, giving Sailor a much-needed double.

From under the gun, Tony Ruberto bet approximately 100,000 on a board of {2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} at one of the feature tables, and Andrew Liporace called after some thought. Ruberto tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and Liporace showed {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a second-best hand.

Loeser Knocks Out Tedeschi

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Manig Loeser
Manig Loeser

In a clash similar to the World Cup quarter finals Germany just knocked out France. A player raised to 27,000 and Manig Loeser, from Germany, three-bet to 70,000. The action folded to Paul Tedeschi and he four-bet to 148,000.

The action then folded back to Loeser who moved all in and Tedeschi called off for a total of 430,000 chips. The stacks were pretty even and Loeser called to put both of their dreams at risk.

Loeser: {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Tedeschi: {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}

The flop brought {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to give Loeser a set, but Tedeschi still had outs as he was looking to make a flush. The turn was the {3-Hearts} and the river the {10-Spades} knocking Tedeschi out. Loeser, who started the day with 442,000 chips, now sits on a very comfortable stack.
