Yunis Doubles

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

On the {J-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} board, Nick Yunis checked, and Jean-Jacques Zeitoun bet 150,000. Yunis called, and the river was the {6-Spades} to pair the board. After Yunis checked with 303,000 behind, Zeitoun moved all in and had him covered. Yunis tanked long and hard, before eventually making the call. Zeitoun showed the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for queen high, and Yunis showed the {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for two pair and the winning hand.

Sandler Runs Into Pocket Rockets

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

"All in and a call Table 381," we heard a dealer yell. We made our way over to discover Ian Sandler all in for his last 190,000 and in bad shape against Adam Lamphere.

Sandler: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Lamphere: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

Sandler's best shot at survival was to find some spades, but the {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop only contained one. The {3-Diamonds} turn took away the backdoor flush possibility for Sandler, but it did give him a wheel draw to a five for the chop. Unfortunately for him, it didn't come in as the {A-Hearts} peeled off on the river. Sandler will take $38,634 back to New York for his 260th-place finish.

Cole's Aces Send Bax Packing

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Kelaerin Bax was in middle position and announced an all in raise for 129,000. Action came around to David Tuthill in the small blind who moved forward a call. William Cole was in the big blind and he announced a re-raise all in for his tournament life of 633,000. Action was suddenly back on Tuthill to make a significant call.

Tuthill thought for right around four minutes before opting to ditch his hand. With that, the cards of the active players were turned over.

Bax: {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Cole: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}

Cole's pocket aces were in the lead and stayed that way as the community cards came down {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Cole scored the elimination and boosted his stack to 1.02 million.

Hastings Tries the Bluff

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Jeffrey Chang raised to 26,000 in early position, Brian Hastings called out of the small blind, and both players checked on a flop of {4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. The turn was the {7-Spades}, Hastings led out for 75,000, and Chang called.

The {9-Spades} completed the board, Hastings bombed out 175,000, and Chang tank-called. Hastings revealed {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a pair of nines, and Chang had to study the two cards before tabling {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for a superior pair.

On a board of {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} with roughly 220,000 in the middle, Andrey Zaichenko led out for 75,000 only to have Matt Waxman raise to 185,000.

Zaichenko made the call, and after Waxman tabled his {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}, the Russian tabled his {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} to see him scoop the pot and move to roughly 1.72 million as Waxman slipped to 1.44 million in chips.
