Benger Pushing 3 Million

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Griffin Benger was in the big blind against Michael Palo on the button, and he check-called 75,000 on a board of {j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. On the {8-Hearts} river, Benger checked again before calling 150,000.

"Seven," Palo said, peaking down to find the relevant card. Benger turned over {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for top two, and he took down the pot.

DeGeorge Falls to Shaw

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We picked up the action on a {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Spades} flop when Joe DeGeorge checked from under the gun and Christopher Shaw bet 105,000 from middle position. DeGeorge responded by check-raising to 260,000, but that opened the door for Shaw to move all in. DeGeorge called off for 610,000 total and discovered the bad news.

DeGeorge: {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Shaw: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

DeGeorge flopped top pair, but it was still behind the pocket jacks of Shaw. DeGeorge got lucky though when the {9-Clubs} appeared on the turn, which threw Shaw into a bit of a tantrum. He uttered a few expletives, wondered aloud how such a thing could happen, and didn't even notice the {4-Clubs} complete the board on the river.

Someone then informed Shaw that he won with a better two pair, which obviously turned his attitude around. On the other hand, DeGeorge was counterfeited and saw his 2014 WSOP Main Event come to an end.

Aces For Lee

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Darlene Lee
Darlene Lee

Darlene Lee's tournament has been extremely interesting to follow as she's one of the few remaining ladies in the field. On Day 3 Lee lost a huge pot with an ace-high flush against a straight flush, and then she lost aces to ace-king, but still managed to keep a good stack. Just now Lee's aces held up and we saw her climb back up to around the million-chip mark.

After unknown action Lee ended up moving all in while Pierre Canali had put in a big raise to 220,000. At this point Geoffrey Rasmussen was already all in, and when Canali folded the showdown was heads up.

Lee: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}
Rasmussen: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and Lee's ace held up to knock Rasmussen out. Canali was left with little chips and he's going to look to rebuild his stack after taking a big hit.

Kelly Scores Double Elimination

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Sean Kelly raised to 25,000 from early position and it folded around to Jay Goldenberg in late position who moved all in over the top for 140,000. John Andress shipped all in over the top from the small blind for 214,000 and it came back to Kelly who called them both.

Kelly: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Goldenberg: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Andress : {J-Spades}{j-Clubs}

Kelly was in the lead with his pocket aces and looked primed to eliminate two players from the field. The flop came down {4-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, keeping his bullets out in front. The board paired on the turn with the {k-Spades} and the {7-Hearts} hit the river, ensuring that Kelly would reduce the field by two. He scoop up the sizable pot and now has 692,000 in chips.

Leifer: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}
Wattel: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, giving Wattel a set of nines to score the triple up.

Shklover's Short Stack Grind Ends

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Michael Shklover was grinding a short stack most of the day for Day 4, but his tournament life was finally snuffed out when he got all in with {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} against the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Sean Dempsey. Dempsey flopped a set on the {6-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}, and the {9-Hearts} and {4-Clubs} missed Shklover's straight draw.

You're Going to Give Moon a Heart Attack

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Over at Table 386, Ezra Abu Gazal opened for 24,000 under the gun and Scott Palmer called from the small blind. Richard Moon then announced that he was all in from the big for 528,000 total. It was a big three-bet, and Gazal seemed perplexed. He thought long and hard, seemingly tortured by the decision, and finally spiked a tower of chips on the table to signify a call. Palmer quickly folded.

"I've got 'em," Moon said.

"Aces?" Gazal asked as he tabled the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Indeed, Moon rolled over the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Gazal got out of his chair as the ESPN cameras gathered around the table. He was clearly frustrated by the situation, but he perked up when the flop came down {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Spades}.

"Great, always a sweat," Moon lamented as his opponent held the only spade. "Red."

The dealer obliged and put out the {8-Hearts}. "Red one more time," Moon pleaded. The dealer burned one last time and put out the {10-Hearts}. Moon's pocket rockets held, and he started patting his heart while breathing a big sigh of relief. Meanwhile, Gazal retook his seat and sent the vast majority of his stack over to Moon.

Meanwhile, Champie Douglas was eliminated in 281st place when his {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} failed to hold against the {a-Spades}{q-Spades} of Anh Van Nguyen when an ace spiked on the river.
