Parvizi Off to a Hot Start

Level 4 : 200/400, 0 ante
Iraj Parvizi
Iraj Parvizi

Hold'em

Iraj Parvizi just recently took a seat and has quickly accumulated a vast amount of chips. After a limp from the hijack, Hsiao Liu raised from the cutoff. Parvizi three-bet from the small blind and was called by both players. Parvizi checked blind before the flop of {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs} hit the board and Liu was the first to bet. Parvizi called and the hijack folded.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and Parvizi check-called again. The {5-Spades} paired the board on the river and both players tapped the table. Parvizi turned over {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and Liu mucked her hand.

In the next hand, Parvizi and the small blind capped the action preflop. On a board of {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, the small blind check-called a bet from Parvizi on every street only to see Parvizi table {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} for a set of sevens.

Andrew Barber: {x-}{x-} / {2-}{6-}{k-}{5-} / {x-}
Nathan Pfluger: {x-}{x-} / {a-}{10-}{9-}{2-} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {3-}{j-}{7-}{j-} / {x-}

Barber began with a bet on fourth street and was called by both of his opponents. On fifth, the action was checked to the third player who bet and both Barber and Pfluger called.

Pfluger had the lead on sixth and led out but was called by both players. After everyone took turns betting on different streets, it was time for seventh street. The action checked to Barber who squeezed his last card and then tossed in a bet. Both of his opponents threw their cards to the muck and Barber raked in the pot.

Shack-Harris Gets Straightened Out

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Brandon Shack-Harris got off to a quick start to begin the day, but he has recently taken a couple of hits to his stack. Most recently, he found himself in a pot where his opponent's hand was starting to look a little scary.

Brandon Shack-Harris: {x-}{x-} / {5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs} / {x-}

The action was checked on fourth street and Shack-Harris led out on fifth. Shack-Harris check-called both sixth and seventh only to see his opponent reveal the {6-Diamonds} for a straight. That was good enough to win the hand as Shack-Harris dumped his cards to the muck and took another hit to his stack.

Vornicu Falls Short

Level 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Adam Rymer: {x-}{x-} / {3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}
Valentin Vornicu: {x-}{x-} / {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} (folded fifth street)

Adam Rymer was the bring-in and Valentin Vornicu raised to 200. He was called by one opponent along with Rymer. Vornicu held the betting lead throughout the hand, barreling on fourth and fifth streets. Rymer wasn't fazed as he continued to stick around while the third player bowed out.

Both players checked sixth and Vornicu bet again on seventh. Rymer made the call and flipped over {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair, sending Vornicu's {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} to the muck as neither player held a low hand.
