Morris Emerges Victorious Against McAulay

Level 34 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Nicolai Morris
Nicolai Morris

Daniel McAulay briefly seized the chip lead against Nicolai Morris, but an all-in preflop confrontation between the two gave Morris a large lead once again.

A series of raises between the two led to Morris all in for 318,400 on the button with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} against McAulay with {A-}{8-} in the big blind. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Spades}{K-Clubs}, and Morris was back in a comfortable lead.

A few hands later, McAulay limped the button and Morris popped it to 60,000 from the big blind. McAulay reraised all in for about 220,000 and Morris called with {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}, racing with McAulay's {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Clubs}, giving Morris the nut straight to take a commaning lead in the hand. The {4-Hearts} turn left McAulay drawing dead, rendering the {A-Hearts} river moot.

Morris advanced to the Round of 8 where he will play Juan Pardo Dominguez.
