Ross Sends One Home

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Ray Ross
Ray Ross

Action folded to Ray Ross on the button and he raised to 11,000. The player in the small blind jammed for 69,000, the big blind got out of the way, and after brief consideration, Ross called to put his opponent at risk.

Ray Ross: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Small blind: {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Ross had the preflop advantage and his opponent needed to improve to stay alive. The board ran out {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds} which connected with neither player, so Ross took the pot to stack his opponent.

Chitser Flops an Ace

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

It folded to Chan Chitser in the small blind and he raised to 18,000. The big blind moved all in and Chitser snap called for 126,000 turning over {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. The big blind showed {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and it was a classic coin flip with Chitser at risk.

Chitser paired his ace in the window on the {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop to take the lead. The turn {7-Clubs} and river {5-Hearts} were no help to the big blind and Chitser doubled his stack.

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Kevin Gerhart opened to 13,000 from middle position, Joseph Cheong was next to act and called, and the hijack three-bet to 40,000. Gerhart called and Cheong called, as well.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and all three players checked.

The {5-Clubs} fell on the turn and Gerhart checked. Cheong bet 45,000, sending the hijack into the tank. He folded after about 30 seconds, Gerhart did the same shortly thereafter, and Cheong took the pot.

Calderaro Lays It Down

Level 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

There were about 80,000 chips in the middle and the board read {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} when we got to the table. Bracelet winner James Calderaro had bet 55,000 from the big blind, sending his opponent in middle position into the tank. He ultimately raised to 130,000, and after brief consideration, Calderaro tossed his hand into the muck.
