Ohel's Number Two Rakes a Big Pot

Level 5 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

2-7 Triple Draw

Randy Ohel opened with a raise. Brandon Shack-Harris made it three bets and Dan Zack called in the big blind. Action was back to Ohel and he made it four bets. Shack-Harris and Ohel both called.

On the first draw, Zack took two while Ohel took one. Shack-Harris also took two. Zack checked. Ohel bet, and both of his opponents called.

On the second draw Zack and Ohel took one while Shack-Harris took two again. Zack checked again. Ohel bet again, and both of his opponents called again.

All three players took one on the final draw and Zack checked for a third time. Ohel bet once more. Shack-Harris leaned back in his chair and thought for a bit, then eventually decided to just call. Zack folded.

"Number two," Ohel said revealing his {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Shack-Harris mucked quickly so Ohel took down the pot.

"I had a possible raiser," Shack-Harris said after the hand.

Yehuda Buchalter
Yehuda Buchalter

Omaha Hi-Lo

Yehuha Buchalter limped from under the gun, Jason Mercier did the same from the hijack, Michael Glick called from the button and Justin Bonomo checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and action checked to Mercier who bet. Glick raised, Bonomo folded, Buchalter called, Mercier reraised, Glick called and Buchalter called.

The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Buchalter led out, Mercier called and Glick folded.

The river was the {8-Diamonds}, Buchalter bet and Mercier mulled it over for a bit before he folded.

Buchalter showed him three cards, the {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}, for nut-nut as he collected the pot.

Ohel Monologues His Way Into a Call

Level 5 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

No-Limit Hold'em

Picking up the action on the river after Randy Ohel check-called a bet from Brandon Shack-Harris on the turn. The board showed {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Ohel checked. Shack-Harris led out with a bet of 38,000 and Ohel dropped into the tank.

"Now were in the situation where I'm trying to show a hand down," Ohel says to Shack-Harris. "And you know I'm trying to show a hand down and you bet a gajillion chips."

Ohel continued talking, trying to work his way through the hand. "I know you don't have sixes otherwise you would've bet like 2,500," he continued. "I really wish I didn't open this hand right now. Unless I call and win."

Shack-Harris remained silent, still not talking.

"You know this is more of a monologue than a conversation," Ohel said. He thought for a bit more, then called.

"Ace-King," Shack-Harris said, showing {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for two pair. It was good to take down the pot as Ohel mucked.

"When you said ace-king, I thought I head you say 'nice call,'" Ohel said. "I heard what I want to hear."

"Sorry it wasn't more of a conversation," Shack-Harris said, finally breaking his silence. "I say the wrong thing a lot."

Frank Kassela
Frank Kassela

No-Limit Hold'em

Frank Kassela is the third player eliminated from the Poker Players Championship.

Speaking to both James Obst and Aaron Katz, they informed us that on a {K-}{10-}{7-}{8-}{X-} board Kassela called all in holding {K-}{J-}.

Unfortunately for Kassela, his opponent in the hand was Matthew Ashton, and he held {J-}{9-} for the nut straight, and consequently eliminated Kassela late here in Level 5.
