The stakes remain high at the 2026 Poker Masters, with Event #8: $15,700 NLH getting underway inside the PokerGO Studio at noon local time in Las Vegas.
The second and final $15,700 event of the series comes as the race for the coveted Purple Jacket begins to heat up. Seven events are now in the books or have reached their final table, with just three tournaments remaining before the player of the series is crowned.
Adrian Mateos has been the standout performer so far, having reached three final tables, including a victory in Event #5 and a runner-up finish in Event #2. He's also among the final five in Event #7, putting himself in an excellent position to extend his lead at the top of the Purple Jacket standings.
Event #7 will crown its champion later today, with Aram Oganyan returning as the chip leader ahead of Mateos, Jeremy Ausmus, Cherish Andrews, and Joe McKeehen.
Players in Event #8 will receive 150,000 starting chips, with blinds beginning at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. Two reentries are permitted, and late registration remains open until the start of Level 9.
Levels will last 30 minutes through Level 8 before increasing to 40 minutes, with breaks every four levels initially and every three levels thereafter.
After today's action, the buy-ins will rise again for Event #9: $26,000 NLH, before the series concludes with Event #10: $51,000 NLH.
The field will play down to the final table today, with the remaining players returning tomorrow to compete for the title.
