Doust Doubles Through Zolotow

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Marty Doust limped in from the small blind and Steve Zolotow raised to 35,000. Doust moved all in for 67,000 and Zolotow called.

Doust turned over {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Zolotow tabled {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}. "That's the worst case scenario" said Zolotow when he saw the pocket eights of Doust. The board ran out clean for Doust {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and his pocket eights held up to earn him the double up.

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Bill Fogel
Bill Fogel

Bill Fogel had been flying under the radar for much of Day 2 but that is no longer the case. Fogel started the day in the middle of the pack with just over 50,000 but he has caught fire after the dinner break.

Fogel doubled his stack of 130,000 holding a king high flush just after dinner against the top pair of his opponent and he hasn't looked back. He is now sitting with a mountain of 466,000 and is all alone at the top of the chip counts with less than three levels of play left in the night.

The board read {a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} John Borzio bet 50,000 into a pot around 120,000. His opponent moved all in for just under 60,000 and Borzio made the call.

His opponent showed an ace and Borzio then quickly tabled {j-Clubs}{j-Spades} for a set of jacks, which was enough to take down the pot.

Iwaniak Trips Up Campana

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Linda Iwaniak
Linda Iwaniak

The action folded to Linda Iwaniak on the button and she raised to 12,000. Victor Campana called from the big blind and they went heads up to the {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop. Campana checked and Iwaniak tossed out a bet of 20,000.

Campana check raised all in for his last 90,000 and Iwaniak called. Campana turned over his {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for top pair and was in great shape to double up against the {a-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} of Iwaniak.

The dealer burned and turned the {4-Spades} and Iwaniak turned trip fours to take the lead. The river {3-Spades} was no help to Campana and he was eliminated in 82nd place earning $2,868 for his efforts.

Maser Holds to Take Down a Nice Pot

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Thomas Maser opened to 12,000, a late position opponent called and the cutoff then moved all in for 40,000. Maser and the late position opponent both called.

The flop came down {8-}{2-Spades}{4-Spades} and both players moved all in, with Maser at risk of elimination. The late-position opponent tabled {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for a flush draw, Maser turned over {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for an overpair, and the initial all-in showed {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

The board ran out clean for Maser as both opponents failed to connect with the turn and river. He took down a nice pot and moved up over the 300,000 mark.
